Why are we playing them two years in a row in Tuscalooser?

Because they and Vandy were identified as our permanent opponents with Texas and OU in the league. Vandy is at home this year. They didn’t want both the permanent opponents series to be either on the road or at home in the same year.

Got home (from State Mock Trial competition) a bit after 10:00pm CDT. Of course, couldn't log onto Volnation.

It actually felt like infidelity to go elsewhere to find the results of the BaseVols and Lady Vols. You're my steady gal, Volnation!

His long term health is the most important. Thinking is longer time for healing and warmer weather may be more suitable for his long term health. If you miss use and hurt someone's long term pro chances would be detriment to future recruitment.

I totally agree. I'm just wondering if he will be able to pitch significant innings for us this year.

Agree but it’s two weeks where he has struggled with control. My fear is that starts eating to your bullpen on Friday. Phillips is an automatic 6-7 innings right now.

Assume we see Kuhns, Arvidson, Krenzel, and Combs if needed today….obviously Snead and Loy are done. Those 2 are studs and will remain invaluable as the season progresses. I expect to see Bargo in the lineup today. This team is too young and needs his veteran leadership/experience. He’s looked really good at the plate in both Bama games.

Tony said everyone was available for today’s game with the exception of Nate. Loy looked a little shaky last night but got a nice SO in an important spot. Maybe he comes in to face a batter or two if necessary.

I guess I should not be offended at the way they acted Thursday night, but I was. We can get quite exuberant ourselves. I half expected them to go down to the football field and tear down the goalposts Thursday night.

I hope we stomp them into the ground today, but I’ll take a one point and series win that’s for sure!
