The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

How does the special teams coach still have a job?
Because it's a roster issue to be honest. Our personnel for special teams is really bad, and I thought they would have fired him just because. But at least the GM and coach aren't knee jerk firing because they screwed up. It shows integrity...... But it needs to get fixed.

It's one of a few legitimate criticisms of Carthon so far.

That wasn't a coverage sack. That's a QB staring down one receiver and missing an easy completion with a chance for the receiver to make something happen in the open field.

Levis has learned nothing sitting the bench, and let's be honest, that exactly what that was, to help him see from a professional what he should be doing.

He's a waste of arm talent because he doesn't have it cerebrally.

Stupid play calls like that last screen pass are so magnified when your offense/QB sucks. Like, if you have a competent team and game plan you can just go onto the next play, but when it’s in between two drive killing sacks like that, the play caller just looks like a complete moron.

Yep, Levis is a coach killing QB. He refuses to check down and instead holds the ball and gets sacked when his line buys him time, when they don't he's even worse.

Levis is just so bad.

Yup. In guy language, he's a show pony.

I am always amazed at what NFL folks who make millions think about players. Yet, they continue to do things like pick a Will Levis thinking they can fix him. He's doing what he has always done. Lock on receivers, miss open guys because he cannot read coverages, shift out of his pocket protection to be sacked easier, and always hold the ball too long. He is a clipboard guy at best. But the Titans need to start him every game to let him play his way out of their plans.

Can't help but wonder if Levis' success at KY was predicated in Liam Coen being OC? Levis' rating was similar in both '21 (with Coen) and '22 (post Coen). His TD:INT ratio was better with Coen. And I look at what Coen has done with Baker Mayfield in Tampa.
