We're gonna have to win the next 5 just to make the playoffs. I don't see Houston dropping 4 games.

That's why I said division. If we can't catch the Texans, we're probably not catching the Steelers, Bengals or Jets. Steelers and Bengals hold the tie breaker and they have all of their starters. If we can't catch a team who lose Andre Johnson, Mario Williams and Matt Schuab... why would we catch the other teams? I don't think we will. Was Texans or bust for me.

If we catch someone else, awesome. I'll be beyond stoked. I'm just putting my eggs in the Texans basket if this team is going to win the playoffs.

Understandable. Leinart went down today late with a shoulder injury so now they're on their 3rd string QB. That may help.

With only 5 games left for the texans - with one being the titans, another (the thurs before) being the Colts, and the one before that being the Panthers might be the biggest problem though

Tennessee is either going to have to win the next 5 or only lose 1 of the next 4 games...

Titans will HAVE to beat the bills, colts, and jags...I don't know that they have too much of a chance vs the Saints

And as far as tiebreakers

we've already lost two divisional games while the texans haven't lost a single one...if we end the season with same records, not only would we have to win week 17 but they'd have to lose to the Colts in week 16, just to open up the common opponents tiebreaker

Titans are 5-3 common opponents at this point with 3 common opponents (saints, colts, jags) left. Texans are 6-2 with 4 common opponents left (falcons, panthers, colts, bengals)

Well it wasn't pretty but the Titans came back to beat the Bucs. Another Game winning td late in the 4th quarter for Hasselback, DWilliams redeemed himself with a clutch catch close inthe back of the endzone, and CJ had his best game of the season 190 yards.

Titans need get ahead of the Broncos, Jets, Bengals, or Steelers.
Positive news is the Bengals play the Steelers. I would rather the Steelers win since Bengals have more losses than the Steelers.
Jets Play the Skins on the road.
Broncos play the Vikings on the road.
I'm more confident the Skins could beat the Jets than the Vikings. Sanchez has been hot and cold while Tebow has been a ace.

No need to look ahead to the Saints one game at a time but I will say the Saints could make it ugly if the Titans don't get any pressure on Brees, and get in a early hole.
As ugly as it was in the Houston game Saints could easily make it uglier if the Titans play like crap.

I sound like a broken record, but the Titans have their MLB of the future in Colin McCarthy. The dude produces and is all over the football field. Time to tell Ruud thanks for mentoring the rookie and let his contract expire. Jurrell Casey is a man, too. The future of the middle of the defense looks really bright.

Still think we need another WR opposite Britt, but hopefully Damian continues to progress.

Bengals aren't that good. Look at who they've beaten. Also, who almost beat them (Titans, Browns, etc.).

I think the Texans could easily lose 3 of 4 before our rematch. I think they lose to Atlanta and Cincinnati, then it comes down to the Carolina game. That would allow us to drop one between the Buffalo and NO games.

Even if they beat Cincy, that helps us in wildcard.

I think if we win all but one of our games to finish out the season, we are at worst a wildcard at 10-6.

Cincy's schedule is tough. They'll lose to Baltimore and Pittsburgh at least. If they lose to Houston, that puts them at 9-7.

We apparently hold the tiebreaker over the Jets. I can't be bothered with which tiebreaker right now, but when both finish 10-6 in yahoo's playoff generator, it puts us in at wildcard.

I'm also putting together playoff scenarios for my fantasy team :(

I have to win and need at least one out of two other teams to lose to put me in.

Justin:

One more Titans win...

Will be the most humiliating day in my life. Where it went wrong for me, the Titans are about what I thought they would be. I had them winning about 2 games in the division which with a healthy Peyton would have been accurate. I never saw the Ravens collapsing like they did, I thought the Bucs would beat the Titans turns out none of them have ever played in the rain. So while I will be humiliated like never before, I am pulling for the Texans, Jets and the AFC North teams to keep winning.

I really don't like making predictions on this team, but I think 4-1 is reasonable to believe given the final stretch of teams left on the schedule. Problem is that 1-4 is also reasonalbe to believe. I'll hope for 4-1 and expect 3-2.

@ Buffalo - W
New Orleans - L
@ Indy - W
Jacksonville - W (We seem to always have trouble with Jacksonville late in the season)
@ Houston - W (QB dependent)

Gotta string some Ws together, though. That's for sure.

They collapsed? They look like they're in a pretty good position to me. Just beat the 8-1 49ers.

I thought the Bucs would beat the Titans turns out none of them have ever played in the rain.

Rain hurt the Titans just as badly as the Bucs. Not an excuse. The Titans are a slightly above mediocre team. Admit it.

Sounds pretty spiteful to me.

I meant they collapsed in that game, they are way better than the Titans and they collapsed in that game. Not their entire season.

I think the Titans are below mediocre. Freeman's fumble killed them but him spiking the ball on first down with 1 min 14 seconds to go was a terrible decision.

I despise the Titans, I have never tried to hide it. I am pulling for all those teams to win so the Titans don't make the playoffs.

Bitter, bitter small man.

I root for the Indianapolis Peyton Mannings after the Titans are mathematically eliminated each year.

Below mediocre?

Better than historically bad, I guess.

Yea below. The AFC is down the year especially the south. The Jags a starting a rookie QB, the Colts are playing a garbage QB and the Texans are now playing with their 3rd QB and you all still probably won't win the division and need several teams to lose multiple games for you all to even have a chance to go to the playoffs.

LOL

I'll echo Thrasher, then. Did you root for the Colts when they were in Baltimore?

And now that you've "won" the "Suck For Luck" campaign, good luck striking gold twice.

You're only allowed to root for a new team when they come to town if they don't change their name.

It is preferred if you pick a team that you have no logical ties to other than one player that played at a university you're a fan of, though.
