he's good enough to play but he needs more work before he's really starter material.
I'm comparing it to McNair (another QB who the titans took that was felt to still need some work / a bit of a project)
His rookie year he played in 4 games, only 2 of which (the last ones) he started. 2nd year, played in 9 games, only starting about 4 of them. He wasnt given the full reigns as starter until his 3rd year.
These are the kind of guys who really need to sit, watch, learn and fix things rather than being thrown into pressured situations like these. I'll gladly give him 2-3 years of learning if he turns out between McNair and Rodgers production rather than feel he needs to be ready by year one or he's not worth it (I actually feel Young's development was hindered by throwing him out so early - rather than giving him the time to sit and develop/learn as he most likely needed to; again just my opinion though)
