The Official Tennessee vs. #12 Florida Game Thread 7:30 ET ESPN3

We let them kill us inside in the second half and decided it was more important to get Scottie involved than get it to harris on offense.

The refs have blown but hard for me to blame this on them.

How many games do we have to complain about the foul discrepancy before we realize that having such a physical game might be a big part of the problem?

Contact is the same on both ends. It's not just bad officiating. It's uneven officiating.

Our team wasn't allowed to play average-intensity defense for like 5 or 6 possessions in a row. Is it any shock that we aren't defending as well after that stretch?

Is it any shock that Florida has a lot of shooting confidence after the refs handed them a 15 point lead?

My dad always said that when you lead at halftime and get whipped the second half it was because the other team's coach knew how to make adjustments and your coach wasn't smart enough to anticipate it.

Of course it was. We haven't been allowed to play defense. There was one stretch about halfway through the 2nd half where the refs called fouls on the floor on 5+ consecutive possesions. Foul disparity has been a problem all year long. For whatever reason, refs have just called absurdly tight games on us all year long.

spot on. the announcers keep talking about how brave erving walker is for taking it to the hoop. well it isnt hard to be brave when you know if anyone touches you you are going to the line.

They didn't play defense during a long stretch in the first either, catch up

Florida didn't score a single point in the last 7ish minutes of the first half. Wish the refs had let the two teams play in the second half.

Structurally, our defense is stupid looking. Doesn't suit our personnel in the least.

Every coach we play against talks about how the Vols are constantly using their hands, playing extremely physically, etc. You know every coach is constantly working the refs about it. And that's how the refs have started calling our games.

Okay, so why didn't Tennessee go into the locker room with a thirty point lead?
