The official Tennessee vs Arkansas SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THREAD 3PM ESPN2

Let me just put all this in perspective for you guys. Had to remind son to look at entire picture and not one game. When he was recruited 5 years ago, we were just hoping that some time during his years at UT he would get to go to Hoover and get to play in a regional, which was being very hopeful back then, but not only got to play in Hoover but the Championship. He got to pitch in an SEC Championship game even though he gave up a HR, but if you are going to give one up do it to the MVP of the tournament. He has had a great experience so far this year and the Road to Omaha begins today. Don't take for granted what these guys have done. They have worked really hard to get this team where it is and have a plan to get to Omaha.
I was headed home Saturday afternoon so I would not miss church, saving my Sunday for Omaha but my leadership called and said "if you come home don't preach another sermon on Family. You always preach about quality time with your kids and being there for them. Tomorrow is your day to be a dad not a pastor." I stayed and even though it did not turn out as planned I got to see my kid pitch in an SEC Championship game. A once in a lifetime moment for him and his teammates. I hope it becomes a yearly thing but you are not guaranteed it. Enjoy the ride and Go Vols.

Their hard work shows and it has paid off for them. They are a fun bunch and very easy to root for.

They are one of my all time favorite UT teams across all sports.

I'd like to add a little perspective.

1) The shut down inning for a second run rule victory was a huge contribution to even getting to Sunday.

2) Koops also gave up a home run.

Let that marinate for a tick.

You have a fantastic congregation and I’m delighted that both you and your son got to experience the thrill of the SEC Championship Game.

I hope your son and this team get to experience Omaha in a few weeks. They’ve certainly earned it.

Speaking personally, your son and this team has reignited my love for college baseball, something that has been dormant for me since the Delmonico years. They have become one of my favorite Tennessee sports teams to follow in recent years. Please know that we do not take their hard work for granted. They are great young men and wonderful representatives for Tennessee Athletics.

Best wishes the rest of the way!

And Arkansas played one less game than we did. I'm believing that had an impact on the score yesterday.

Just a noob to Vol baseball here, but your message and the support it received this morning helped llft my mood as did the devotion of the @feathersax family.

I do know what it's like being a father, and thanks to his family's and mom's I've been blessed to be a Vol fan. I also love baseball, but my tournament ritual was only good for three of the five days.

I am tainted by my bammur ties, so excuse my neverending typos. Enjoying the ride.GBO!!
