The Official Tennessee vs LSU CWS Game Thread (Tues. 6/20 7PM EST ESPN)

Well hell of a season boys got hot at the end and just ran into Omaha where you gotta bring your A game , we will get there this last couple years stings like hell but the best life experience/lessons usually do. Atleast we have proud army wife to cheer us up until football season.

Disappointing but soooo much better than watching Notre Dame dogpile us at LNS last year. It has been a good year.

I think this year had some of the most epic moments in BaseVol history. I think it’s also time to reflect and to have some perspective. In my experience and I’m sure many of you who have been watching sports for a long time, it’s rare for a coaching regime that you know is great to just show up and win a championship. Look at (puke) Georgia with Kirby Smart. How many painful losses did they take from 2017-2020 before finally breaking through? Or how about a more palatable example: what about Tennessee football from 1983-1998? Consistently really good, consistently winning 9-11 games, winning SEC titles, playing in Sugar Bowls and January bowls, but it took 15 years to finally reach the summit of the sport. The key is just getting into the big dance as many times as possible and eventually you bust down the door. Right now, unfortunately, we are in the stage of taking our lumps as the nouveau riche program in CBB. But we have clearly been established in the elite class of the sport as a program.

Sux to exit the tourney without scoring a freaking run. Anemic.

I've watched Sewell a lot--and while he's been effective in many games, I have never perceived him as a true late-inning shut-down guy.

We may win it all in baseball--hell, look at Ole Miss last year--but we'll never have a better team than we had last year. Last year we had a juggernaut and underachieved in the NCAA, to say the least; this year, we weren't nearly as good and yet overachieved in the NCAA--at least until Omaha. As we so often hear...."that's baseball."

Tony will eventually break through and win one. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later, but he’s young and doing all the right things. He’s too good to not win one.

Heck of a coaching job by Tony V - great coaching I think. It took something short of a miracle to get this team to the World Series!

Vitello looked sick at the end of the game!

Sewell wasn’t really brought in as a shut down guy. He was brought in to get a ground ball, which he got. After that, well, didn’t matter.

We need Burns to be our Friday night guy with Beam , Russell and Evans plus several other big arms , our pitching will be fine , we’ll more than likely lose Denton , Ahuna and Dickey plus Do , Lindsey , Halverson and Sewell

It's been a lot of fun watching this team grow. Sad that it's over. They have no reason to hang their heads, great bunch of fellas. Final 8 is something to hang their hats on.
