He had an intermediary in there with Smoke Laval. Another coach they forced out because he wasn’t Skip; only had 1 regional appearance, 1 Super regional and 2 Omaha appearances in 5 years.

Only was used facetiously. That fanbase has unrealistic expectations and I truly think it’s going to make the job less attractive. Everything is there that you could ever ask for to be successful and most coaches will be successful; the issue lies in what a coach and even outsiders perceive as successful and their fans.

They will be fine in that they can hire a Godwin, Vitello etc. good up and comer. They’re not going to land the Sully’s, McDonnell’s, etc. of the world. Why would someone with that level of success leave their great situations to go to a place where that level of success is considered underachieving.

I may be wrong but I think pushing out a guy like Paul will be a detriment.
