I've been slacking the last couple of games(vacation) and figured I'd get this one out the way early :)

Can't wait for this. I was watching a little bit of the Memphis / Charlotte game to see how Memphis has progressed and I wasn't impressed. I love beating Memphis but smackin' 'em down at the forum is even better

We must:
Take away their fast break points - Limit turnovers to 10 or less. We're improving here. Had 16 TOs in Maui and gave up 21 pts off Ts.

Match them on the boards. Out rebounded them 49-34 in Maui. They'll double Maymon this game. Kenny has to show up.

McBee must continue his streak. Only 1-1 in 13 minutes in Maui.

Control the tempo and contest the perimeter.
This game is very winnable.

McBee's success or lack thereof against Memphis tonight will depend on dribble penetration and kicks. If Skylar only gets one shot, it's because there is no movement and penetration by Trae, Cam, Maymon, et al to draw the D.

Memphis struggles with teams that can compete with them athletically (Charlotte, UT, all of our losses). I expect Memphis wins this one, but it'll be nowhere near the double-digit win that some sites are predicting. Even the official line (Memphis -8.5) may be too high.

Ferrokohn Hall is eligible for the Tigers tonight and he wasn't for the first game in Maui. He'll draw Maymon duty tonight and I think he'll give Maymon some problems. Hall is gritty and longer than Maymon, although he gives up a lot of weight.

Golden will see Joe Jackson, Antonio Barton and Chris Crawford tonight. I think the combination of these three kept Golden off-balance last game, and this may happen again tonight. This game will depend on which Joe Jackson shows up to play: the morose, tenative Jackson that has been around most of the season or the confident Jackson that showed up for Belmont and the C-USA tourney last year. If Jackson can control the ball and attack the basket, Memphis may put this one away early.

UT getting hot from the outside or feeding off offensive rebounds is what worries me. Tatum, Golden, McRae and McBee can be dangerous shooters and Miller and especially Maymon attack the offensive glass well.

I actually don't expect too many turnovers in this game, from either team. It should be an interesting game.

Short of Memphis literally fumbling the ball into our hands or dribbling off their own knees, they will not have many TO's as Tennessee does not force many TO's.

Tennessee does a decent job of protecting the ball as well, but could turn it over if Memphis decides to use their guards in a small lineup to implement some press.

For some reason, we don't press. Ever. Pastner must have no faith in our guards to position themselves correctly, or our bigs to protect against the easy bucket.

I expect a war down low in this game though. Tarik Black fouled out in 13 minutes the first game, I think he lasts a bit longer this time.

Getting Black in trouble early is key. We really need to control the glass to win this game.

And TV sucks. Either FSS or CSS does not have HD....I hope is CSS because it's horrible watching games.

FSN has HD. On Comcast, channel 404 or around there, a bit higher than ESPN and ESPN2.
