The Official Tennessee vs Mississippi State SEC Tourney Game Thread 10:30 AM

They’re not losing a hosting spot.

They lost two games by a combined 25-3 score. It’s not an accident

I have a friend who is a MSU alum and big follower of their baseball program. He said they are on the bubble for top 8 seed and was not happy with their lack of motivation after yesterday.

Kendall Rogers even tweeted that they put themselves in a spot to lose a top 8 seed.

I’d like to see this Mississippi team tomorrow. 1, I think it would be a good matchup and 2, I want us to see as many good teams as possible, heading into regionals.
GBO!!
I’m confused on how this newer style bracket works...I know we play at 4:00...but we play the winner of who?

And don’t we have to beat someone twice at some point?

They threw their 3 best guys from starter to closer in order and got rocked; it was an accident. One of my vendors who’s a State alum and follows them religiously was traveling amongst our locations today and was unable to watch. We talked after the game and when I told him we scored every run and they were earned on MacLeod, Bednar and Simms he was in disbelief. Nobody at State saw this coming with the arms they trotted out today.

Chris Burke mentioned in the post game that in 2005 UT lost the first two games in Hoover when he played and then went on to Omaha........
I am not saying they are a top team or that Omaha is out of the question for them, but just that vs the top of the SEC they seem average. Maybe they catch fire but right now but if I am a 7 seed TN and MSU is the 10 I don’t protest too much.

I say we rest our guys and go home ... rest for regional ... since we finally won one in the sec tournament .. who cares who wins tournament .. we won sec east .. so we can hang a banner .. go home get rested .. hope they aint playing Sunday and get wore out

I have actually never wanted to win a game in Hoover so badly, because I am DYING for a rematch with Alabama tomorrow. MSU scares me a bit, but if we somehow won today and Florida beats Alabama, I think our guys would be out for blood tomorrow and it would be a beat down.

It's not about that, it's about making sure Alabama gets a better chance at the NCAAs. They probably wouldn't mind us beating them now, because the umps/SEC already made sure they got another good "win". But again if given a chance I wouldn't be surprised if we play them again, the balls become strikes and vice versa. In my many days of watching sports, never in the history of baseball would that be called interference, but against Alabama in Alabama, you betcha. Honestly, sometimes I wonder why we just don't threaten to leave for the ACC, the rampant homerism for the Tide (and Kentucky in BB), is disgusting to watch again and again, ad nauseum.

I could be wrong, but that is my understanding.

Winner of UF/Bama gets an off day on Friday. Loser plays Tennessee.

Winner of Tennessee versus UF/Bama gets the winner of UF/Bama on Saturday.

The semis and championship are winner take all.

Yes, see my post above, #441.

Solid job by the offense to get the Hoover monkey off our back and it would be nice to face Alabama again tomorrow and repay them for the loss yesterday.

runs rule in 7, rest early. I want to see this fired up offense again. The bats were on fire today. Really good to see Liam Spence having a solid day. That’s what this offense needed.

lead the way, Liam

I'd rather play a tired Florida team playing for the 4th straight day...then we can beat Alabama on Saturday...give the Gators a day they could get an arm or 2 back
