New poster here so cannot start a new thread but read this board daily. I am a native Knoxvillian, UT alum and long time resident of Raleigh so know both teams. Few things I thought I might share:
-State has shuffled 3 O-line starters so who knows, that could be good or bad for them.
-Even when people mention the glaring LB situation for them no one talks about the fact that they not only have huge questions for the starters but the debth is beyond suspect.
-With expericed O-line and QB it can all be broken down due to inexperience at WR, Tobias Palmer is all they have with experience and he is fast but not sure he can be effective enough as a lead weapon
-I think we win the trenches on offense and quite possibly defense, if both win easily if just on O still think we win. But I do believe we will pressure QB more than them.
-They have not played well outside of home and we will have majority crowd, I know not a home field advantage for us but is more of a plus for us than them.
-Their defense last 2 years does not stop people by being more physical or over powering they try to strip the ball or get a turnover to end drives. If we don't allow that we win, this is the only way they beat us. PROTECT THE BALL. They will try to strip it every play.
-They will try to block a punt to get quick easy points.
-Only other thing that worries me about us is first game with new defensive scheme and we may give up a big play score due to missed assignment. It happened against Montana and Cinci last year.
We should win this game trust me I know both rosters very well but that does not mean it is guaranteed by any means but I do not think it is going to be all that close unless we allow that to happen.

I'm highly nervous about this game. I don't understand why people think we will blow them out as we are as evenly matched as two teams can be. I also know that if we do lose to a very good team like NC State, this place will melt down for no logical reason.

They are not a fast start team and from what I am seeing locally we are more ready right now than they are, not being cocky just my opinion based on a lot of info from both sides and local info for both.

I don't expect everyone to understand my journey, especially if you've never walked the path I have, but know that I'm hungrier than ever!!!

Finally it's here! Having some coffee, going to pack a bag, put the Vol flags on the car and head to Atlanta with my sweet wife and my very excited brother. It's time to kick some a$$ and make our way back to the top where our program belongs. Today it begins!
