The Official Tennessee vs. Ole Miss Game Thread, 20:00, SECTV

Henderson

2012-2013 3point%: 35%
2013-2014 3point%: 36.4%

McRae

2012-2013 3point%: 35.5%
2013-2014 3point%: 34.3%

So, McRae/Henderson is basically the same shooter, yet McRae is better in all other facets, yet Henderson is better?

Don't buy the hype please.

Drugs has nothing to do with what happens on the basketball court. Im not his mom or the police.....Yes I feel Marshall makes a bigger difference on the court than Mcrae.

Even though McRae is better in every facet of the game?

Really????????

Its about the difference a player makes on his team......People said the same about Iverson when he was in the NBA but he led the 76ers to the NBA championship game...Ole miss had never been to the tourney under Andy Kennedy....Add Marshall and NCAA tourney bound.....Lost a big portion of their team last yr and are pretty competitive with Tennessee's experienced team....tonight excluded obviously.

Without Jordan McRae, Tennessee would have a losing record. I don't buy that argument.

And I think you are forgetting a couple other players on that Ole Miss team that had a big impact, like Reginald Buckner.

Marshall Henderson lead them to the NCAA tourney?

He went 6-14 (3-8) and had seven turnovers in the SEC title game.

Murphy Holloway was 11-14 with 23 points/10 boards/3 steals/2 blocks.

What does that last sentence mean? Competitive after losing a portion of his team but tonight excluded? I agree with Z that Marshall needed help from his big men. Holloway and Buckner were huge for them. It meant you couldn't just focus on him. This year, OM hasn't beaten anyone. Lost to Mercer, and I believe Henderson played.

I added the last part bc I figured that would be the first thing someone said. It didnt help LOL I am not going to change anyone's opinion and noone can change mine....

I gambled alot last basketball season and several times on Ole Miss so I watched most of their games...I have never seen anything like it. He does things Jordan cant do and most guards in the NCAA cant do. He is like a one man show at times.

Like what?

Pass? No.

Handle the ball? No.

Rebound? No.

Defend? No.

Get points in the paint? No.

Get to the line? No.

Seriously, other than hitting 3's, what can he do better than Jordan McRae other than get arrested for drugs?

And here's this. Every time Andy Kennedy goes to bed, he lays down thinking "I really hope I don't get a call from the campus police about Marshall tonight". Cuonzo Martin NEVER has to worry about that with McRae.

And yes, that's a factor in who you would rather have.

We are not trading players, we are talking about what happens on the court....none of that other crap matters in this discussion... He is better at creating TO's and a better ball handler than Mcrae. He is also better at making difficult plays and carrying a team than Mcrae.

McRae's steals+blocks match up right with Henderson.

Also, McRae has much more ball handling responsibilities than Henderson with about the same turnover rate. I've seen both. Give me McRae in ball handling.

And who cares if he makes more difficult plays if McRae creates more easy ones?

You act like Henderson had nothing. He had two excellent forwards last year.

Morehead just blew it. Had a 5 point lead with a minute left. Missed free throws and turnovers. Sounds familiar in a couple of our collapses.

I agree that he can be phenomenal. I understand when a shooter can get rolling. All I could do was occasionally shoot and got hot a few times in rec league games. But I just don't like the antics. The arrests are another story. I know we are talking basketball, but it is something real that a coach has to deal with. But the silly on court antics are just dumb. He is crazy. Kind of like a cracked out Manziel. Just a knucklehead.

The bigger question is who has the most street cred?

another loss tonight and a poor showing and poor attendance, the CCM era will be coming to a close.
