Our offense was fine the whole game. We just gave up far too many 3's in the first.

All right . Just got back from the game. After we got going on defense we played great. The 1-4 offense with either big guy worked very well, AJ and Moore got good minutes in, Josh was stroking it, McRae was McRae, and Stokes looked like a beast. So, there's really only one question...

What is VN going to find to b**** and moan about?

We didn't play sh*tty in the first half. They made their shots. We didn't guard as well and still went in up 1.

coaches finally realized that it's better when Maymon and Stokes aren't out there together.

The issue with that is Stokes is too good to play less than 30 minutes, and Maymon is too good to only play 10.

Just to change it up. There motion offense is better than ours and they are running circles around us.

I get what you're saying about change of pace, however it's clear that we just didn't play defense the way Martin wants in the first half. We didn't zone at all in the second half (to my knowledge) and we completely shut them down, so our man to man is more than capable.

Unlike several games this season that we lost AND won, I never really had that, "oh my, this is bad basketball" moment. It was obvious that TT was simply on fire early. We were playing decently on both ends even during the first half. The second half is what I've expected, but not gotten for much of the season. It actually even looked FUN for the guys. I think that UTEP was a slap that we needed and that these Vols are finally figuring out what their identity is moving forward. They will get better and better.
