The Official Tennessee vs Tennessee Tech Game Thread (Tuesday 4:30PM)

Okay. Dumb question bc I am new to this site. Do they have designated hitters in collegiate ball? Guess I could Google it.

I think GS beating Tech actually helped us a lot. When I looked Monday we were in the 60s-80s.

Ok, that makes sense....but it sure doesn't seem like enough to get us to number 1 in RPI.

Early observation from week 1... sure seems like there are a lot of mid-majors playing some really good baseball. Better than ever.

Agree on both statements.

Thanks. What's our pitcher look like?

I can't resist. I can't describe all of them. But one has this stupidly long hair and a funny mustache that rolls up on the end. he could be your huckleberry.

To seriously answer what I think you were asking. Our pitching staff is really good. We have 2 guys that will be big contributors that are hurt right now but the rest are really good so far. Added a freshman that could have gone first round in the draft but chose to come to UT, a transfer from Georgia Southern, a transfer from Missouri and several other good freshman. Returnees have shown good stuff also. If everyone gets and stays healthy we may have the best pitching staff in the nation. Those are big IF's though.

I have a question: Since Tennessee was only one out away from an official game yesterday, whenever they resume, will they play until the out and call it a game, or go for 3 more innings?

I imagine they would play 9 innings however the coaches could agree to go 7 for the 1st game then play a 9 inning game.
