The Official TN Tech @ Tennessee Game Thread (Tues. March 26th 6PM EST SEC NET+)

You guys have to stop this…people on TV could not see if the run scored or not. It was good it did but I am not trading the last out of an inning midway through a game for a run either. I am glad it worked out but I don’t think the plan was to run into an out there.
It was a called play, you could see Parker giving him a high five afterwards for doing his job.

Dallas's day is done 8 pitches and 0 K's. Stamos on the mound for UT.

Stamos - Backwards K.

Antigua makes a spectacular play at SS on a hard hit grounder to SS.

Pop fly foul out to 3B.

VOLS lead 3-0. Middle of the 5th.

Dallas is at 14 pitches and 1 K. UT pitchers have 4 K's on the day.

It was absolutely a called play with 2 outs and 2 strikes. Great execution by Taylor there.

Correction.

Apparently the counted the steal at home prior to the Taylor getting tagged out in the pickle.

Chapman scored from 3B via stealing home.

VOLS lead 3-0.
I think all our confusion stems from the announcer not knowing the rules. He said, "and the run would have counted if Taylor made it back to first." I was thinking, wait....what? And...did they not show us that our guy from third went too?? Oh well.

Came back from the commercial and we had another run on the screen. I looked at my dad and said, "he doesn't know the rules. Only reason he would have said that is he thought he had to be safe at first for it to count. Nope. Not on a tag out."

Yep, my reference to the “blunder” is I thought the runner didn’t go home while Charlie was in the rundown.

Bad announcers and crappy camera angles aren’t helpful.

That’s fine…glad it worked…nobody could see if run scored on TV and they didn’t put the run up until the next half inning started…that is why you saw folks react as they did
That’s so true, at the time I made my post, they hadn’t put the run up and sure didn’t show it.
