Looking at forecast, and it is pouring down in Estill Springs, rain until 6:00, 6-7ish showers in transition, 8 and later cool, breezy, no precipitation. If you are going to the game, wear/take rain gear and something warm to wear. I want to see UT beat Tech. Does not look like lightning or severe weather so fingers crossed. What accounts for so many bounced infield throws to first base this season?
I fully expect to hear John Wilkerson call "Bouncer to shortstop... bouncer to first, in-time for the out!"

Or is my perception mistaken that there are more now than previous seasons?

the couple of times recently were in wet weather. Lots of players will skip a long throw on artificial turf, too, back in the day when more MLB teams had turf vs grass. I think Ozzie Smith did it routinely back in the day

When it’s wet, it’s a great option on the turf.

Absolutely, no brainer. Last I heard, Antigua still not able to swing the bat. Maybe that has changed.
Ariel Antigua has been cleared to hit. He PH last and drilled a long fly to left Center. I expect he will start at SS tonight. He will be a stud once he finds his groove and knocks the rust off.

We could have him perfect his bunting until he's ready and should the opportunity present itself where the team could use a pinch hit bunter, we'll have an expert.

This post started out as something that would be blue text, but now that I think about it, there's no harm in anyone getting better at bunting even though it's not the most popular thing on this forum and perhap in real life.

Either way, imagine how frustrating it is or Antiqua being on a team, unable to apply his athletic skills. So I hope he's doing okay mentally at this point in time.
