The Official Tobias Harris Thread

Just to update Tobias' thread as we approach his announcement...

Tobias and his father will be visiting Maryland (Nov. 13-14) and Georgia Tech (Nov. 16-17) before making a decision on Nov. 19, which reports say will be televised on ESPNU at 5:30 PM EST.

NOTE: Most sources don't consider Maryland or Georgia Tech to be major players in the Harris sweepstakes. It seems to be between Syracuse, West Va., Tennessee and Kentucky.

There are conflicting reports as so whether Tobias will actually sign with the team of his choice on the 18th (last day of the signing period) before his announcement.

So wait... Pinkston is making his announcement on the 18th and Harris is announcing on the 19th? Could be good they are announcing back to back. Might be better if they were announcing together. Anyways, I saw this TOS.

Meyers Mailbag -

I wouldn't be surprised if Tennessee landed both Harris and Pinkston. Certainly the competition is thick for Harris, but Tennessee is in a strong position in that race. With Pinkston, Tennessee just might be the leader in a mix with Villanova and St. John's.

Tennessee is battling Villanova and St. John's for Jayvaughn Pinkston.
The word is that both these New Yorkers are communicating with each other and the possibility of playing together an attractive scenario.

Just realized the guy is a little redundant.

Rob Lewis reported on TOS that he feels Tennessee has a great chance to land Tobias. He said he didn't want to call Tobias a "lock" to UT, but he was VERY confident from the rumblings he's been hearing...

Harris would be a huge pick up but the Hopson pick up was something we needed more at the time but Harris starts day one once he is on campus IMO....

Harris is at least as important now as Hopson was then. We have no forwards/centers coming in yet.

I guess I saw un-updated rankings, but Hopson still took a very talented instate player away from our main rival, so it was a win on two accounts.
