dont know how people are putting this one on pearl though, when you miss open jumpers and open lay-ups thats on the players. Ill put the purdue loss on coaching, but this loss was just a lack of player performance.. to say the least.

I was. And then I switched to the New Mexico Bowl on ESPN. I would enjoy seeing Pearl's team unranked after this one. If they aren't out of the top 25, which I'm sure they'll be in somewhere, then I guess Memphis will get rid of that tacky number by the team name.

I have to admit, I was kind of concerned listening to Pearl on Rome. Two things that stuck out: When asked about the team's intensity level, he conceded that he didn't push last year's squad as hard but said it was different this year. I thought that was a little strange, almost defensive. Also, when asked what things have changed for him in coming to a big-gig school, he mentioned two things, and one was the money, which he described as "huge." Maybe he has indeed lost some focus and passion. Hope, though, this is only what it looked like...1 really terrible game!

no half court offense.

no discipline.

lack of effort.
