The Official Washington Nationals Thread

They've played poorly. Don't think Strasburg not throwing in the playoffs last year has much to do with that. Just a really weird time to bring that up.

By losing in the playoffs, yes. I don't think that was our only chance ever at the playoffs.

I don't agree totally, but a good portion of the Nats lineup last year had career years. As whocaresbobcatsblow might say.. maybe they are regressing to the mean?

That's why I say they wasted a great opportunity. I think they'll make it to the playoffs again but I don't see them as dangerous as they were last season.

If we can make it to the playoffs, we're plenty capable of going on a bit of a hot streak. I sure hope it wasn't a one year window with the talent we have.

"With two outs and the tying run at first, you have to play the outfield so the ball doesn't go over your head," Soriano told the newspaper in Spanish. "It may not have been a catchable ball. But if we're positioned the right way, there might have been a different outcome.

"With two outs, I could tell my 4-year-old son, 'You know where you need to play,' and he would have positioned himself better. It's not an excuse, and I'm not speaking badly about anybody, but I think that's how you play the game."

-Rafael Soriano on Bryce Harper
