The Official Washington Nationals Thread

It makes a ton of sense. Sell high on a 1 year flyer (coming off his worst season ever, and '22 wasn't much better).
The thing is at the end of the day you've got to keep at least some of the players that are successful and that fans like, even if its keeping a guy for short term.

I'd give the Nats a lot more benefit of the doubt if it looked like they were actually trying to build something.

Ah, prospect weeks. A little injection of hope (hype), even if the y slowly and sadly replaces the o oftentimes.

NATS in the Fangraphs Top 100:

(3)
Dylan Crews: "His best swings feature unbelievable verve and explosion, with Crews’ lower body usage evoking Mike Trout."
(10) Whomever they draft 1-1 midseason

(19) Jarlin Susana: Another part of the Soto deal. If you're gonna sell hype, best make it 6'6'' 240 with the best slider going hype.
(84) Travis Sykora: Perhaps we are accidentally developing some pitching after not doing so for a long, long time.

Brady House absent.

Wood, Crews, Laviolette with some pitching trying to peek through... could actually eventually be a thing.
