You are mistaken on a couple of counts;
1. Joe Milton isnt the biggest problem
2. Plenty of people with football knowledge say he isnt the biggest problem

Im of the opinion that the average fan devalues the importance of the O line because they are never ever mentioned my the tv announcers unless they make a glaring mistake. Having two walk on O lineamn starting in the SEC will make any offnlense pretty average.

Honest to God… You watch Joe Milton play and think he is a dynamic play maker with the ball in his hands that is making everybody around him better? Are you really going to say that?

As far as people with football knowledge saying he isn’t “the biggest problem”… first of all, that’s not very much of an endorsement when somebody says he’s not the worst player on the team? Secondly, most of the people with football knowledge making those comments or either coaches of hours or someone else who is biased in some way, such as a journalist covering the team trying to repeat the narrative (on the coaches behalf) they want the fans to hear.

I seem to remember playing two walk-ons when Kiffin was here and our offense looking worlds better with mighty Cromp-daddy than what we’re getting with Mr. Big Arm. Because Cromp could actually move, read a defense, and go through progressions. Making two or three nice throws a game does not a quarterback one make.

Well wide receivers can’t get open snd drop too many balls that could be caught. OL is average at best. Defense is still a major issue, especially def. backs. Let’s not get into punter. Milton isn’t as good as our last QB, but he seems ok, if only he could scramble and run like Hooker. A running threat covers a lot of weaknesses. 9-3 looks like a great season, but 8-5 is more likely. Or, gulp, worse.

There are way more players on the offensiveline than the ones listed above. I’m not gonna go look it up but one name I recall is Addison Nichols. He was a big get in the 2022 class. He’s on the roster and was thought to be pushing for a starting job. We also brought in several guys from the portal the last couple of cycles.

This was always going to be our thinnest year on the office of line and then losing Cooper (and Mincy for Florida) added to the woes.

But make no bones about it… The biggest issue on this team is at quarterback. Nobody (serious) could deny Milton has played very poorly. Just like essentially every previous game he ever played for us. Or every game he ever played at Michigan.

Sometimes it’s a simple as this… You can’t have a really good all fence without really good quarterback played. And athletic got back there would immediately make the entire all fence look better. And furthermore… The offensive line hasn’t done terrible at pass protecting this year. Milton hasn’t been hit or sacked a lot.
Yeah we’ll just take your oversimplified analysis over Pro Football Focus grades, the stats, and what our coaches say.

Some of y’all having been keeping the tar and feathers ready for Joe all offseason. Just admit you don’t like him.

He's been running for his life the past two games. AP was in our backfield almost every play. His only int. was caused by a 425 gator belly flopping on his chest. The OL is our BIGGEST problem. Our defensive backfield is our second biggest problem. Joe doesn't play those positions.

Deion is coming back to reality come this weekend. His best player travis Hunter is done for the year and his cfb career w his injury last week. They should have lost to CSU. They about to lose the next 2 and the next 5-7 games.
Hunter isn’t out for the year. He’s set to miss about three weeks. Even if he was out for the year, his college football career isn’t over. He isn’t draft eligible until 2025.

This is what I don’t get. That INT was on him. That 425 pound defensive tackle did a ball rush of the middle. Milton looked right at him and saw him coming but didn’t manage the timing. He either hast to get the ball out of his hand before the defensive player arrives or he has to take a step or two inside or outside to buy a little extra time. That’s always been one of the issues as we’ve seen Milton play. Controlling timing and speed. It’s also part of the reason so many of those throws are too far ahead or behind the receiver. People say it’s accuracy, which is a part of it. But the larger part is I just don’t think he sees angles very well. Similar to It’s also part of the reason so many of those throws are too far ahead or behind the receiver. People say it’s accuracy, which is a part of it. But the larger part is I just don’t think he sees angles very well. Similar to a point guard on the basketball floor. A great point guard anticipates, where is teammate is going to be in often times is said to be “passing him open”. QBs do that as well. When hooker was throwing that scream pass if there wasn’t a defender coming up the field, he would always lead the receiver, throwing the ball a few steps in front of him so he could catch it on a run. That’s why it was more effective with him then it’s been this year.

Have you ever noticed when watching really good quarterbacks play they often get hit just after the ball leaves their hands? It’s not a coincidence. They understand the momentum and distance of the player chasing them and accurately time their release. That’s something Milton has just never done well. It reminds me of JG.

He had a couple of sacks that couldn’t really be avoided because pressure got to him fast. But that INT was a play a high level qb has got to do a better job on. Heupel even pointed that out in his presser saying “you can’t throw that ball up right there”. That was on the quarterback for taking too long to get it out of his hands even though the pressure wasn’t super fast and didn’t come from his blindside.

Milton is really bad. Our oline and WRs are playing badly too but a good QB makes everyone and everything look much better than it is. Our hurry up offense from last year is slow as a snail now as well.

We desperately need a decisive QB who can scramble and has a quick release. Milton plays like a snail in every way possible.

No he isn’t really bad.

I'm not convinced the O line sucks after one bad game. I need more games to make a decision. Weren't there also numerous starters out against FL? Yeah I'll wait.

Plenty of blame to go around but we all agree the OL is a HUGE problem. Well when you are this it should make more sense. I mean this is Dooley level incompetence.

2019:
Darnell Wright — NFL
Wanya Morris — transferred
Jackson Lampley — reserve
Chris Akporgoghene — transferred

2020:
Cooper Mays — starter, currently injured
Javontez Spraggins — starter
James Robinson— transferred
RJ Perry — transferred

2021:
William Parker — transferred
Jeremiah Crawford — starter
We just need to get off our collective arses and hit the portal hard. Know we've got some talent, but it's too young to help us next season. Get busy in the portal and bring in half a dozen OL to protect Nico next season. To do anything else will have me seriously questioning Heupel and co. This all assumes we take care of business tomorrow. Should we not do that, the questions about the OL will be moot.

Know who you are! The identity is offense, and it's shown up for CJH, on the field, in the past, and last year. It's why you attract 4-5* skill players (WR, QB) all while STILL emphasizing your preference is to run the ball. If you believe that then your OL should never be the weakest group on the team. Even less so in this era.

No excuses for Joe, but this group impacts both the QB room and the RBs, as well as your recruiting narrative where you emphasize the running game. Don't know what 2023 will bring but I'll not be happy if the talking heads are again talking OL question marks come 2024. After that.....we can talk QB.
