The Overreaction thread

The feelings part is in more articles about it if you're really interested. And if it pertains to the subject being taught then it would be relevant. Can't see how a whole semester in HS could be spent on it. As you have demonstrated, US education is falling behind and they need to concentrate of things that matter to someone's future

Womens studies or african american studies?

Place for those in secondary education?

I answered that already. Reading comprehension must have been an elective

Sorry, you were unclear.

So we can teach Womens Studies and African American history but not Gay History.

Sounds like I'm ahead of my time or you're lagging behind.

I'm going with the latter.

In HS? They are already cutting meaningful classes and you want to muddy the waters even more with classes like that? Clearly education has different meanings for different people. Who cares if they can't balance a checkbook as long as they know Joe Gay came up with the rainbow flag in 1970

No electives in high-school?

Great.

Do you propose 3 hours of English (no way they have time for foreign language, obv), Math, and Science for four years? (Who has time for history in high school?)

Talk about well-rounded students.

Right because we all know that kids who go to public school would never dare disagree ::Gasp:: with the way public schools are done.

I guess that means you are clearly a public school grad.
