The Patriot Haters/ Dont hate winners!

Why do we hate Bama, Florida, etc. BECAUSE THEY ARE THE COMPITITION! THE only people who should be Patriot fans are people from the area or lifelong fans of the Patriots. Not some fairweather fan who will be a die hard whoever the flavor of the month fan next year!

I understand that! But are you a lifelong Giants fan? Me either - but given 2 teams that I dont normally pull for - I would rather see history and an unbelievable feat (19-0) take place. No one ever thought we would come that close to seeing an undefeated team again beacause of the level of competition and the number of games played.

I don’t understand most football fans around here. I think I’ve figured out why people hate the Patriots. The same reason people hated the following people at one time or another; Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, the Yankees, and Alabama Football (at one time) -because they are winners. Most people truly don’t want to see you have real success in life! It’s true!

Nobody hated them when they one the first 2 Superbowls. You can mess up and win one Super Bowl, but if you start really building a dynasty and dominating the opposition people will hate you because of it. I guess its jealousy, but I applaud greatness and I am a fan of hard work, perseverance, determination and all the things the make up greatness.

How can a REAL football fan not have pulled for the Patriots this past Sunday, unless you’re a lifelong Giants fan and we know there weren’t many of them before Sunday. Say what you want but Belichick takes players that everyone else thinks is washed up or doesn’t have what it takes and then makes champions out of them, just like someone else I remember –The Bear! I never thought I would see a perfect season in the NFL during my lifetime and it killed me to see it fall through with 30 something seconds left. And honestly, I haven’t been a lifelong Patriot fan, but I am a fan of the NFL and of what they have been able to do in the past 7 years or so. People didn’t hate them when they beat the Rams in the Super Bowl of few years back. Oh but once they continued to school other teams the HATERS come out! Ridiculous!
This really is an incredibly clever, well clever for a Bammer, shameless plug for Alabama football. I have won (do you see what I did there?) interesting question: How does a college coach take washed up players and turn them in to champions???

Not me, if given a choice between two teams I care nothing about I'll always root for the underdog. To me that makes a much better story line.

Wow, here's the bottom line, the Patriots choked away an opportunity to go down as the greatest team ever. What little respect I had left for the arrogant jackasses flew out the window when they couldn't score more than 14 points in the biggest game of the year. Bottom line, I don't hate the Patriots because they are winners, I hate them because they are losers.

What makes them arrogant? Because Belichick doesnt enjoy anwering the same stupid questions from the media over and over. Did anyone think he was arrogant when he coached the Browns?

P.S. What has OBAMA really done in his life?

More than you will ever do in this life, or any other life that you may live.

P.S. Really stupid statement

For the record, I want everyone to know that I do not believe that your choice in presidential candidates has anything to do with your ability to discern who is an arrogant jackass. Unless, of course, you voted for Bush:)

EXACTLY! Its not about a storyline - Its about FOOTBALL. How could you not want to see an unbelievable feat like 19-0 or like BAMA winning 12 championships (not to mention the other 2 they were cheated out of)

OK OBAMA has nothing to do with football - I agree. But there does seem to be a lot a hype and not much substance -sorry. Enlighten me if you wish

Whatever - people hate winners and thats the bottom line. I respect what they did and still think they are one the greatest teams ever. I admire that king of effort - I dont tear them down because they are successful.

By the way they have a pretty good record over the past 3 years- even though no superbowl.

How about option "C: People hate them because their coach behaves like a jerk"

PS: Don't hate me because I am a winner.

Why do people live in the past? Why are you so wrapped up in what was and what could of been. You should focus on the future and not worry about championships won while wearing leather helmets!

If we had lost to UL Monroe this year, I would be dwelling in the past too.

People pulled for the Giants to win because everyone loves the underdog story. Average Joe's can relate to the underdog facing insermountable odds, who fights hard even though no one is giving him a chance. It's a story woven into the fabric of America; it's how this country was forged.

Besides, there are plenty reasons not to like Patriots other than the fact that they are a very good football team. Spygate, that "toad" Belichek, that stupid humble pie saying, the "coy" attitude of every player, etc. etc.

Pulling for the Pats. this year is like pulling for The Empire in Star Wars.

(sorry Vader) :)

It sounds a bit whiney to me. Perfect is for pansies. Rooting for the Giants seems like the only "real man" thing to do. A real man gets excited to see perfection spoiled. Only girly men like for things to be perfect!
