1. Well the Southwest Missouri State debacle now has company. That was an utter disgrace.
2. I think Mike Hamilton was 100% out of line in making comments about a coach's job security prior to an NCAA Tournament game. It served no real purpose.
3. That said, it his comments shouldn't give the players a pass. Today's lack of effort was an embarrassment.
4. Trae Golden, Tobias Harris, and Skylar McBee showed some pride today. The rest of the roster crapped all over the legacy and sweat of the guys who built this program under Pearl.
5. The first order of business for a hypothetical new coach should be to meet with Cam Tatum. If today is the level of effort and concentration he's going to play at, it's best he find some place else to play next year.
6. Getting hammered on the boards by that Michigan team is inexcusable. Tennessee got destroyed by one of the weakest teams on the glass in the field.
7. John Beilein is simpy a fantastic basketball coach. That roster shouldn't be in the CIT, let alone winning a game in the NCAA Tournament.
8. I'm not sure what the substance of the exchange we saw the end of between Bruce Pearl and Renaldo Woolridge was. If it's what I think, Swiperboy should be walking home.
9. All in all, it's been a good six years. Today, however, showed it has undoubtedly run its course.
10. If Tennessee hasn't resolved the issue of who their basketball coach is going to be for the '11-'12 season is going to be within 10 days, heads should roll in the upper echelon of the UTAD. If they haven't been well out in front of this issue, it's professional malpractice.

What happened between woolridge and pearl? I must have missed that?

We simply needed to take this team out back and shoot it, but instead MH put them in the middle of an interstate to get smashed by an 18 wheeler...

Agree on Hamilton. Unprofessional on his part.

Had to listen on XM today...Will Perdue on the color. Please describe the Swiperboy interaction. Probably won't get a replay. Thx.

This. Thanks, y'all.

And this. A thousand times this.

It looked as if when Pearl was putting in the subs for mop up duty, that he looked and Woolridge and asked him, and he simply shook his head no, and leaned back in his chair.

Thanks for all of your summaries this year. I would imagine this was no fun to write one today.

Wasn't paying attention too well towards the end, what happened between Bruce and Swiper?

Good report as always. Painful loss, but it ushers a new coach in pretty quickly.

Looked like Pearl was telling Swiperboy to go in and he refused and sat on the bench at the end of the game.

I don't see how Hamilton remains after this, regardless of Pearl's outcome. Assuming that Pearl is out (overwhelmingly likely) you're gonna have one fractured (and mostly pissed) fanbase out for the AD's blood. If for some highly unlikely, improbable reason Pearl is retained, how could he and Hamilton ever coexist again? Giving that interview two days prior to the NCAA tourney was quite possibly the most boneheaded thing he's done, outside of the Fulmer contract extension.

Pearl asked woolridge something and he shook his head no. I assumed pearl told him to go in and he said no. It seems like I'm not alone

Could someone give me a rundown on the Pearl/Woolridge thing? I missed it.
Same here. I had turned the debacle off by that point.

Also, is there ANY chance at all Tobias stays? I honestly think he's going to get out of here as fast as possible.

Sad part is...I don't blame him one bit.

While I agree that Bruce Pearl's time has come and gone at Tennessee, was anyone else surprised by how little he resembled your typical coach just waiting to be fired at the postgame presser? He seems like a guy who thinks he can save his job, something I find inexplicable at this point.

That's my take. If it's accurate, I'd announce he's been permanently dismissed immediately and irrevocably.

Hamilton should not have said anything, but if Pearl never lied to the NCAA and went on to commit an unreported violation 4 days after crying about his lie Hamilton would have never been in the position of essentially lighly calling out an unethical (in the NCAA's view) basketball coach.
