I like that prediction, but UK's depth and the fact they're a lot more rested worries me tomorrow.

UK will be motivated tomorrow. It is personal now. Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Patterson and Cousins have a burning hatred for us now. They looked pissed at end of last game. We need to get into Cousins head early and get him off the court. We are matched up pretty will against them when he is not on his game. Wall is Wall and will do his thing. Bama just did not get them going. I think we likely lose tomorrow in a hard fought game but who knows.

Hat, with some teams that are presumably ahead of us losing in conference tourneys, is a jump to a 2 seed conceivable if UT wins the SEC tourney by going through Kentucky and Vandy?

Tennessee should win tomorrow. It was pretty obvious today Kentucky's two concerns right now are the Final Four and the NBA Draft.

Cal has stated as much.

I really hope the team is fired up to play them again. Go Vols.
Let's see if Bruce can get them focused on winning this game. Shouldn't be that hard of a task.

Indeed. Even so with the fans, as I was more concerned with choices such as attending a private party at a micro-brew house or hitting up Printers Alley for some blues at Bourbon St. tomorrow night.

Tomorrow is going to be a blast, win or lose.

On that note, I'm more than likely taking UT and the points, which will be slim, if any.

SCRATCH that. I actually think I'm laying off the action in this game.

Happy SEC tourney weekend.

I think we lose to UK tomorrow, but I believe that we locked up a 4 seed with the win today.

Still, it would be nice to at least have a shot at a 3 seed and an easier first-round matchup.

Wise decision. Makes the game more enjoyable, that is if you're not in New Orleans.

I seriously doubt it.

Don't see that happening. Can't understand why he would leave an ACC program on the up and up for a Big East Program on the down and down.

Virginia Tech is a football school. Greenberg has taken them about as far as they're ever going to go in basketball. He has a history of leaving when it gets to that point. He left Long Beach when he thought they were maxed out, left South Florida when they got to that point, and now he'll probably do it again.

There's no reason St. John's can't be a nationally relevant team again. Marquette did it, and they're not in New York City.

biggest thing about playing Ky is getting past the name on the jersey. the name alone beats 90% teams they play

Yeah but if you look at the numbers it's kentucky in the 20s in tourney champs while everyone else is still in single digits

More the reason to send all of the blue clad fans home early today.

Isn't that the same thing though people seem to keep saying about us?

I'd say in recent times that our basketball has been far and above football in terms of winning. Va Tech's football team is solid year in and year out.

True

But I think my point was more towards we've been in what historically seems to be a pretty 1 team dominant conference as far as basketball seems to go.

Well yes it has now in the last year or two. But how many times before that did we hear that pearl was just a fish waiting for a bigger pond? From other fanbases that sure he's doing a great job with a normally pretty bad team, but as soon as some big time basketball school with prestige and/or money offered him, he'd be gone. After all, they are really more of a football school...

Sounds pretty similar no?

I understand your point but it would still make me happy for all of those high and mighty cats fans to go home with their tails tucked between their legs.
