I hope that your MLB knowledge is < than your NCAA knowledge.

I think Putz will be great for the Mets.

Closers go back to being setup guys one way: By failing. That speaks volumes about Putz.

Or because they get traded to a team that has K-Rod.

Yeah Putz looked good at the end of last year. And his bad first half was do to injury. It is a normal baseball story. The question is his health. If he is healthy he is lights out. Same for K-rod. But, health is not a guarantee. The Phillies were very healthy last year thus their success. I would not expect two years of that kind of luck. Putz and K-rod have some health questions. K-rod started throwing a change-up which is tough on the arm. We will see if he holds up.

I figure that at least 1 of the 2 will stay healthy for the Mets next season.

The Phillies went undefeated last season when leading after 8 innings. Lidge was obviously the biggest reason for that.
Now, think about all of the saves blown by Mets pitching last season.
The Mets were still within reach of the Phillies going into the final weekend. Had Wagner stayed healthy, the Phillies would not have won the East and may have missed the playoffs entirely.

I love watching Met fans come up with excuses in an attempt to explain away the fact their team is made up of gutless, choking hacks.
