The Poor SEC sucks...

Fact: 47% of all statistics are made up, on the spot.

My assertion was not a statistic. Do you understand what a statistic is? This thread contains multiple attorneys struggling with a basic command of the language they are supposed to be paid to be proficient in using.

Emain it is hilarious that you think that the SEC will get only 3 teams in.

RPI has the SEC way ahead of the Big 10.

Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue will be in the tournament. Minnesota, Ohio State and Northwestern? I do not see it for all 3. Ohio State looks awful without Evan Turner. Tubby may be able to make a run. Northwestern is tough to see as a strong enough team to win road games against the mediocre conference opponents like Michigan and Indiana they need to beat to get to the tournament. By February start I expect them to have 4 more losses, and Texas Pan American and Chicago State will not help their RPI OOC the rest of the way.

Nope, considered they have crapped on the SEC all season.

I hoped with the new year MHF would possibly find another sandbox to play in. Unfortunately not.

There is not a single person pointing out why the Big 10 is better than the SEC based on results so far this year. The simple reason is that it is an extremely difficult argument to make. The Big 10 has three teams that are a lock for the tournament and a bunch of others who I would take Ole Miss to beat over and over.

What is the record of the Big 10 versus the SEC in basketball this year?

Purdue beat TN and Alabama so 2-0
Illinois beat Vanderbilt and lost to UGA so 3-1
Michigan State lost to Florida so 3-2
Indiana lost to Ole Miss and Kentucky (at home) so 3-4
Michigan lost to Alabama so the Big Ten has 3 victories and the SEC has 5 head to head.

Yet when I said the Big Ten was not as good as the SEC, people went nuts.

Your desire to rush to "statistics" to point everything out sometimes blurs your ability to see things as they truly are.

Perhaps the argument that the big 10 is better than the SEC is hard to make (not in my mind), but the reverse argument that the SEC is better than the Big 10 is equally as hard, if not harder.

Yet you seem to think your babble with numbers supports the latter argument as if it were solid facts, when its not.

The Big Ten is deeper as a league, than the SEC. At least for now.

Yeah, especially since I said 4 with 3 being a real possibility.

It is equally hilarious that you think one SEC division has a chance in hell to get 5 teams in.

The SEC better be careful or Arizona and DePaul will steal a couple of their bids.

South Carolina's NCAA chances are no better than South Florida's or South Dakota's.

1/16-1/31 is not going to be easy for the Vols. People who do not think Alabama can play at home, or that Vanderbilt has the players to beat us, have not watched much basketball this year.

You guys are setting Pearl up but people who watch more than Big East basketball this year (like say watching a lot of teams in your own conference play) know that you are crazy if you think that TN would have to lay an egg to lose to Ole Miss, Miss State, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Kentucky or even Florida if the shots are falling for them from outside.

Bracketology - ESPN

New bracketology has a kind of funny amount of Big 12 teams. Lunardi has 5 from the SEC. 4 from the Big 10...

Florida would be wise to cash in their opportunity against Kentucky in Gainesville tomorrow night. If they don't, they're on the road to be in the same position coming down the stretch they've been in the last two years.

2/13, Florida will beat a good Xavier team at home for the last nice OOC win for the SEC before the tournament.

What will serve our conference best in March is if TN and KY get great seeds, Ole Miss and Miss State dominate the west and perhaps a Vanderbilt or UF get in as well.

What will not be good is if Arkansas with suspended players back are beating our best teams, or Alabama goes on a minor tear good enough to trip up teams but not good enough to get in the tourney, or SC recovers from the injury decimation in time to hurt the top teams, or UGA keeps playing like the team that beat GT and not the team that had horrible early season losses.

Listening to the radio today made me want to jump inside and punch the guys on the sports animal in the face. One of them had Alabama as the 5th best team in the SEC...

1. UK
2. UT
3. Ole Miss (I know they just lost to...)
4. Miss State
5. Vanderbilt
6. Florida
7. Alabama
8. South Carolina
9. Georgia
10. Arkansas
11. Auburn
12. LSU

If they followed this scenario, UF would have one quality win. No way this gets them in.
