The problem with this team IMO

First, they are not good at all on knowing when to switch or not on screen plays. This leads to the person with the ball being open and taking an open shot. Another thing is that no one jumps for rebounds. They wait until the ball gets to their hand which is one reason why we get called for a majority of te fouls.
*****, *****, *****. We lost 60% of our starters from last year and had to depend on two true fresmen to start in our last game against a tough, veteran team. We're 3-0 and should be celebrating not *****ing.:cray:

So, discussing a team's weaknesses on a message board designed for discussing said team is off limits now?

I got an idea. Shut the hell up.

I think as long as Tenn scores more points than the opponent, then we will probably win. Just my expert observation

Emain - WTF are you thinking. You need to back off! Message boards are for general conversation about the homeristic thoughts of a said team. They are in no way designed for general conversation about a team's weaknesses or strengths. We should refrain from posting our thoughts. We should instead say all things are good and perfect in Tennessee Basketball World. In no way whatsoever shall we proceed with things we feel the team should work on to further enhance, improve and all-around better their game. That is pure silliness.

A lot of these comments are true. But this is a team that needs to more time to play together. Goins being out hurts because he is the QB. Golden did pretty well for his limited experience, but Goins is missed. Glad the FTs started falling at the end or this would have been a loss.

This. Give this team time to gel together and we will be fine. I mean its the 2nd real game people. Give them a little time.

I'm pretty sure that pearl teaches to switch on screens especially ball screens. So the players do know, they just are not very good at defending them. Defending screens is all about communication. I am a fan of leaving it up to the player getting screened. If he don't think he can get through it he yells "switch" if he can get through he yells "through it." If its my team I don't want to set a rule to switch all screens especially early in the year. Make them get some grit and toughness and fight through some screens.

Switching every screen has killed us in the past. It isn't that we don't know, we just don't do hedging.

Basketball is the only major sport I didn't play as a kid, so i don't really know anything in terms of strategy.

Our post players have been typically athletic under pearl, and that seems to ve a requirement to hedge on screens.

Are we hedging more now?
