Personally I didn't think the premise was very good at all; the whole concept of the film is stupid IMHO, though I guess I can see a "check your brain at the door" type enjoyment. Still they talked about it on Free Beer and Hot Wings today and one guy told how the movie plays out, and after hearing about it, I definitely think it sounds stupid.

You can wait for Redbox. The movie had a lot of potential, but all in all it was a complete letdown. Cliched writing abd unoriginal horror scenes.

If it had a $3 million budget, they overpaid. I think as word gets out about how crappy this movie is, their box office numbers will nose dive. They definitely capitalized on an interesting idea and a solid preview.

Even if the numbers are cut in half from last weekend due to poor reviews/word of mouth, they've already proved they didn't overpay.

You're right. Their ROI is amazing considering the movie being an absolute turd.

Are going to watch superman or did you enjoy any if the superhero movies? They are pretty stupid ideas but yet considered good films. It proposes a thought and goes with it. Happens in literature all the time. It's called fiction.

Agreed. Bad thing is that this is the type of movie that will probably make a ton of money internationally too, virtually guaranteeing more of them.

I don't think you understood what I was trying to say. I'm not against the film because I only appreciate documentaries or movies depicted solely on real life events or themes. I'm not going to skip on this film because the government doesn't allow citizens to kill other citizens one night a year in order to cut down on population numbers. It's a sick/disturbing plot. Stupid people might get ideas from what they're watching. Aka, Columbine, or James Holmes(Colorado movie theater shooter). And, I'll probably watch Superman. Even if I'm bored with origin films.

I enjoy disturbing plots. I don't think this movie will live up to the hype but like the originality behind it. Never bought into the fact movies makes mass murder. A sociopath will do it no matter what, not because a movie, song, or game does it.

They've already started on a sequel because of how much money this one will make.
