The Reason Kids feel disrespected...

How are you gonna tell me that? You don't even live here. There literally are 2 other families that are pro-UT in my whole neighborhood of 200 houses. Probably half of them are Alabama and Florida fans. Governor's club across the street is even worse.

You live in Hampton Reserve?

Some of the down turn within the state is probably due to some of our recent badness on the field. We start to win and you will have more fair weather fans show up. We just sucked last year and the fans started dropping off.

That's just the way it goes. Not everyone can be writing on Volnation in the state of Tenn.

We are not talking about the construction workers we are talking about residents. Govenors Club = Vandy/ Duke/ Harvard/Yale, not Bammer!!!! Bammers cut the fairways and rake the traps, but don't own the houses you pelican!!! :shaking2:

Bammers living in the Govenors club! :post-4-1090547912:

I'll tell you myself...that's absurd and a lie.

Highly doubt it. In Chattanooga there's is barely majority of Vol fans... probably around 35%... next closest is Bama and it's really close to the amount of Vol fans.. quite a lot of Georgia fans as well with some Florida fans trickled in - more than likely mostly bandwagoners.

If Tennessee played a game in Nashville, they would have a clear home field advantage no matter who the opponent was. Most of the time, that includes Vanderbilt.

I don't disagree. Doesn't mean that the place isn't over run with Bama fans.

Nashville not supporting Tennessee is just BS. I see way more UT stuff on cars, trucks, campers, The power T everywhere. On game day sit on the side of I-40 and watch the orange shakers and flags going east.

Where do you live? Move to the county right to the west of Davidson Co., all is safe here.

I know what you mean there. My mother has worked in Dickson forever, and I've definitely seen my fair share of UT stuff on my way there.

Well, the post that you replied to almost directly contradicts the idea that "there are more people cheering for the team UT is playing." There are Alabama fans here, but there are definitely much more for Tennessee.

And I'd be willing to bet there are more non-UT fans (not just Bama fans) in Nashville - quite a lot more. And of course we're going to fill up Vandy's stadium - but not only UT fans from Nashville come to that game.. UT fans from all over the state do.

Point is - go to Alabama and its really nothing like it is here and they have Auburn to deal with. I never said there weren't a lot of UT fans - but there are tons cheer against the Vols in most major cities in Tennessee excluding Knoxville.

And I don't see anywhere that I posted "there are more people cheering for the team UT is playing".

Part of this is to do with the shape of Tennessee. Memphis is further away from Knoxville than Canada so why would they pull for Tennessee? Yet many still do. Tennessee, being a narrow state makes Nashville close to Alabama and Kentucky so it's more likely to draw other fans to the area. If Alabama were 800 miles away from Nashville than you would see a difference in the amount of bama fans in the area instead it's only about 100 miles away.

With that being said, it's not even close, there are way more Vols fans in Nashville than fans of any other college program.

Hopefully the new staff will turn this around, starting out with Stone from Maplewood for this coming up class. A pipeline into Maplewood,Hillsboro, Hunters Lane, and others would be a good thing for the future.

Hunters Lane has produced some solid players but they cannot qualify.

I disagree. It's about 50% Vols, 30% UGA, and 20% Bama.

And if you go by newspaper coverage, it's more orange than that. This is a UT town all the way.

Down here in NW Georgia it's about 40% UT, 40% UGA, and some others. I wish all the UT fans would move up to Tennessee frankly.

In the Nashville area, UT has a majority of the fans. However, I think most of you are missing the point. The percentage of non-UT fans, though not a majority, is way too high. It is not hard to find Bama, Auburn, Georgia, and Kentucky fans all over the midstate. It is a problem. If you think that it is not, take a look at Birmingham for fans of out of state schools. The same can be said for Baton Rouge, Lexington, Little Rock/Fayetteville, Columbia, etc. These cities are dominated by the local team. Nashville is not.

I will round up the Bama fans in middle TN, and send them down I-65 south, and we got a deal.

I see tons more Bama fans here than Georgia fans now that they're back and playing well.

It's very bad in Nashville. More people pull for whoever UT is playing that week than for UT.

You obviously have the IQ of a rock. I have lived in Nashville most of my 43 years. UT has ALWAYS been well represented in Nashville. But, like all big metropolitan areas with lots of job transfers from other states or job opportunities. Nashville gets it's share of lots of other college fans that don't root for UT.

Depends on the neighborhood you live in, here in East Nashville where I live its the total truth. Inner city kids around here feel as if UT is for the rich kids that go to the various private schools and the bigger schools that are in what they considered the "better" areas of the town.

You are obviously another person with the IQ of a rock. In Nashville, 'the inner city kids' are much more likely to be UT fans than Vandy. Vandy is considered the rich kid school, not UT.

I have been in sales in Nashville for almost 20 years. I have worked all over middle Tennessee. And, I have been in several hundred homes all over Davidson County. Again, there has ALWAYS been a very strong UT presence ALL OVER MIDDLE TN, including NASHVILLE!!!
