Sab, I think I am a little slow this morning from lack of caffine but could you explain the juco comment.

"In regards to prospects in Junior College graduating, it is important to note that John Cullen and Dequan Menzie will not be among them. Neither will John Brown by all indications."

Are you saying they won't be a part of this class? That is the way I took it but like I said I am running a little slow this morning and have distacted by having to work. LOL

Thanks, Sab. This is the second blog of yours I've read, and I'm very impressed.

For somebody who doesn't get into the process of reading every single thread on every recruit, it's nice to have a source on recruiting info that summarizes the entire situation and sorts the news from the noise.

Good work, and thanks again.

I have questions about John Brown being a part of this class. I'm 50/50 on him, but that's not what I was saying at all.

In order to transfer to a 4 year institution from a Junior College a prospect has to meet two conditions:

One, he has to have been enrolled in the JuCo for at least two full semesters.

And two, he has to graduate.

Those 3 are not going to be able to meet the second qualification prior to the early enrollment cut-off point so they will be arriving at the school they sign with in February at some point during the summer.

I meant to say in regards to...graduating "early." Forgot the early part.

Sab,

Great article, always look forward to your updates. In your opinion, will a decisive victory in Oxford provide a boost in recruiting, or will this negative press be to much to overcome?

My feeling is that if our players can get past this and win, it'll show the rest of the country that Kiffin can focus his team, no matter what goes on off the field.

I don't see anything on the field providing more of a boost at this point. We are expected to beat Vandy and UK and I don't think many would be surprised to see us beat Ole Miss. There could be a let-down potentially if that doesn't happen.

It may help us with a few prospects that are considering Ole Miss such as Delvin Jones and Ralph Williams, but beyond that I don't think it means a whole lot. That's just my take.

Sab, thanx for clearing that up. I thought you meant they weren't coming at all because of grades. Great read! :hi:

That was a great article.

TN got destroyed on the line. I was working during the game and when I watched it I told my wife when TN lost yards on 3rd and 2 at the 5 yard line because J McLendon got tossed like a rag doll by Powe that the game was over.

Playing a 3rd string MLB hurt us in that game, but so did the fact that Ole Miss has significantly more talent than we do.

Excellent analysis of the game. Others are blaming this coach and that one and the incident on the loss, but the simple fact of the matter is that we were out-talented (most notably in the trenches) and had absolutely no answer for Dexter McCluster.
