There has been way too much losing associated with the other thread. This one is all about winning

Now, I am just pulling this out of my ass but what would you all think of a deal for Doug Fister and Brandon League? That seems like something we could pull off without giving up anything of real value.

The ballpark helps fister out a ton. And the Reds' park would bring him down to earth a bit. His hr/fb % is 3.8, while Bronson's is 16.6%. Ks/9 are nearly the same, and Fister walks more people. Not saying he'd do as poorly as Arroyo has, but some of it is Safeco driven for ole Doug.

According to baseball reference, Arroyo and Fister are both walking roughly 2.0 batters per 9 which is very, very good. The difference in walks is negligible and I'm not sure why having an excellent walk rate would hurt him. The thing that makes me think he could be successful in Cinci is his GB rates are much better than someone like Arroyo's.

Note, I'm not trading for Fister thinking he will keep his current ERA, as I think he would be more in the 3.75-4.00 range in GABP.

I must have been looking at the wrong column for BB/9... My fault on that. Too early to be attempting intelligent posts for me.

If it was for almost nothing, then might as well.

Rosenthall thinks the Reds should make a move for Beltran or Bourn. I would love to have bourn leading off for this team.

I don't see how you guys stand watching games in this park. Every time Jurrjens throws a pitch I hold my breath hoping the hitter doesn't hit a fly ball.

It's fun, like drinking whiskey with a rabid pitbull handcuffed to your balls

I'd rather see one of a drunk Bobby Cox beating his wife or Mitch Williams and Darren Daulton celebrating eliminating the alleged Braves juggernaut in '93.

Nah. I think watching Roy Halladay no hit the best offense in the NL last year & Marge Schott supporting Hitler would be more fun. :)

You root for a team owned for many years by one of Fidel Castro's most ardent supporters. It was also managed by one of the biggest piece of garbage human beings in baseball history. Good luck throwing stones.

Oh yes. Because I started the stone throwing.

You unloaded Nick Esasky on us. There's no stone big enough to make up for that.
