Looks so awesome, tho there is one trailer that showed me too much of the plot. Wish I hadn't seen it.

I just finished the book. I've read a few stories in Hugh Glass and this one stays true to most of the high points. Not sure about the movie but it looks fantastic...

No. The movie definitely doesn't completely stay true to the book, but I don't think it will detract from what is regarded as historically correct. The liberties taken in the movie are to add drama to the story, but still stays generally true to the real story.

Hence why I said "most of the high points". I agree with you.

I think this might be the one for Leo. But I also think he's going to have again some stiff competition.

if we are to assume at the end he dies on the mountain, then how do we know what truly happened up there? Indians couldv killed him and the other guy. That's what I assume from tge ending anyhow.

That's a fictional variation in the movie that isn't completely based on what's considered to be historically accurate.

Best movie I've seen in a while. Honestly....I loved it. The movie took its liberties from the book and the book took its liberties with the real story. It was extremely entertaining.

Even the "real" story is a matter of debate. A combination of folk lore, tall tales, stories handed down, and truths that weren't well documented, therefore hard to verify.

Great directing and cinematography. Lacking in great dialogue, but it was great for what it was. I thought Leonardo has had better performances, not saying this was bad, just that he's deserved oscars in other movies more so than this one IMO
