I listen to a very wide variety of metal. Recently, I've been listening to a lot of melodic death metal (especially Amon Amarth). I've also been listening to Sabaton on a regular basis.

Sabaton is the best live band I’ve ever seen. I saw them a few years back and was completely unfamiliar with them, and I was blown away. Their albums don’t really do them justice.

Listening to some old John Cougar Mellencamp on Japan SHM CD that I run through Jriver upsampled to 24/196 and it sounds amazing on my 7.2 surround system

I was big into melo death in the 90's. In Flames, Amorphis, Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates, Ablaze My Sorrow, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Edge of Sanity, etc. Amon Amarth still puts out solid records.
