The Rock/Metal Thread

This album is what got me into checking out melodic European metal. Before that I think the only non USA metal I listened to was Bolt Thrower The IVth Crusade, which I bought from Disc Exchange only because of its cover artwork. I loved the next album, Elegy. I remember blasting it while going to Norris Lake as a kid, my friends all pissed off at me.

They shouldn't have been pissed. Amorphis is bad ass.

I know he was highly controversial, but this is what GG sounded like before he got all effed up in the head. Apparently, his brother hid a hit of acid in a doughnut hole and gave it to him before he ever partook of any illicit drugs. I was able to see GG’s band The Murder Junkies back in 1997 (Minus GG of course, died in 1993). Easily one of the wildest shows I ever witnessed. They were some of the dirtiest scum f%c&s ever from NYC. Oddly enough there were some insanely hot chicks in attendance (go figure).

I’ve probably posted this group before, but I love what they did way back before other groups started doing the bluegrass metal covers. I recently suggested to the vocalist that they do Episode 666 by In Flames and he seemed to like that idea, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
