1. A win's a win. Just move on to Thursday against a tough opponent.

2. This team really, really needs Jeronne Maymon. Bad. I mean really, really bad. Their interior defense was bad tonight without him.

3. Jarnell played very well offensively, but he's starting to get lazy on defense. He needs to give 100% on defense. SSU picked on him tonight.

4. I was really impressed with Josh Richardson's aggressive. With McRae's no show, it really was good to get those bench points.

5. Also, UT cannot have another no show from Golden and McRae like that. That just can't happen.

6. The Vols only shot ten three's. That's the good news. They just shot 42% from the field today. That's the bad news.

7. I really liked Yemi tonight. Struggled some on the boards, but rotated better defensively, and was active on the offensive end. Good night from him.

8. Want to keep playing. Need to win Thursday. Really need Maymon to play and play well.

Nice Zjc. Glad to still be playing, regardless of what tourny it's in.

Stokes has never been great on D since he got here. He is 17 and very unagressive.

Actually, he's been a very good one-on-one defender. He's struggled with pick and roll and rotation, but tonight he was lazy. That can't happen. That's why he got benched in the final two minutes.

He has been very unagressive during his time here on D. It isn't something new. He will learn.

We were very lazy on the boards tonight. Lots of standing around and watching. The defense and effort for the first 10 minutes of the game was excellent and then the intensity and effort just faded.

That's the most passive game I've seen him play. He got murdered on defense and only took 7 shots and got 5 boards against a team he should have physically dominated. He looked like Brian Williams out there.

My take on him is he does not seem naturally aggressive. Could just be because he is so young and new. But it is something I have noticed in him.

I agree with zjc. At times late in the year Stokes has looked pretty good on defense. The last 2 games have been less than what he has shown. Im not sure if its effort or they are showing something different that is making him a step slow to react.

Need to lose the 4 guard defense all together.
It'll cost games against decent teams.

THat's what I was thinking. Good thing we have Makanjoula since Hall is out and Maymon hurt. Not sure what line-up we would have played without him. Scary to think it might have been Woolridge. THe 4 guard line-up doesn't rebound worth a heck

Now, now. At no point did he appear stoned out of his gourd.

That guy just wanted his spot deep in the post more than Stokes wanted it tonight.

I'll say again. I look forward to seeing Yemi as a junior. He can be a consistent double/double player at the 5 and we haven't had that in awhile. He's not close to it, but the hands, feet, strength and size are there, as well as a pretty good understanding of the game.

Agree. He's going to be a Festus Ezelli type player.

maybe coach told him to stay out of foul trouble and he did what was asked of him

I don't think CM would care if Stokes was fouling while fighting for position rather than the cheapies he gets. He'll understand that he won't get so many reaching cheapies if he fights for the position early.

Agree. He shows a pretty soft touch at the line too. Kid hussles, looks like a hard worker. I think CCM can help him immensely. I didnt expect what we are getting out of him this year, considering he didnt start for his hs team.
