I'll say again. I look forward to seeing Yemi as a junior. He can be a consistent double/double player at the 5 and we haven't had that in awhile. He's not close to it, but the hands, feet, strength and size are there, as well as a pretty good understanding of the game.
I know that Stokes should still be in high school but here is what he needs to do before next season in order to be a 1st team SEC Type player.
1. Reshape his body- lose about 20 lbs to 250
2. Develope his post moves
3. Develope is flexibility, he is stiff right now.
4. Get comfortable with the mid-range jumper.
5. Get better at the free throw line.
6. Learn to play solid D.
7. Increase his vertical.
He is Raw! but he is very talented and has a very high ceiling!
Say what??? Maybe in the paint, not on the perimeter though
Actually, our team can become a perimeter force.
Look at Kentucky. They do a great job getting ball pressure because Davis is lurking. You can close out on shooters and force teams to start their offense farther out because Davis protects the paint.
He did the same against vandy on senior day. Seems as if he is playing for himself and not the team. This is the stat line that I laughed at.
Woolridge played only 9 minutes yet shot 6 times. He was 1-6. He did have 7 boards.
Meanwhile,
Golden played 34 and shot 7 times.
Stokes played 29 and shot 7 times.
Tatum played 32 and shot 5 times.
Yemi played 16 and shot 5 times.
McBee played 27 and shot 5 times.
Richardson played 24 and shot 9 times.
McRae played 27 and shot 6 times.
I guess Woolridge thinks if he doesn't get to play much he might as well shoot. LOL.
That's the most passive game I've seen him play. He got murdered on defense and only took 7 shots and got 5 boards against a team he should have physically dominated. He looked like Brian Williams out there.
He has some things to work on. I will probably get blasted for this but he isn't as dominant as I thought he would be.
His d is lacking. His footwork is lacking. His shot is lacking. His.offensive sets are lacking.
A good offseason and he can be really good. Its going to take some.serious work.
He has been very unagressive during his time here on D. It isn't something new. He will learn.
