November has been awful for the SEC. Just last night, Florida gets beat by a middle of the pack Big East team and Alabama gets crushed by an Oregon team that lost at home to Oakland. There are going to be a whole bunch more losses and probably multiple coaching changes by the time this season is mercifully over.

Watching Mercer march through the state of Alabama undefeated told me that there were some issues.

There is a small bright side. UT stands a great at chance at back-to-back titles. And, maybe we can take further advantage and grab an SECT title, an accomplishment that would be very valuable when the SEC is back on its feet.

I'm not all that bothered by Florida losing in a competitive game to a decent Suracuse team. Florida still has a lot of experience issues to deal with and its the beginning of the season. By the time conference play rolls around, a loss like this one isn't all that meaningful.

Hopefully, the Vols will have a solid showing in Orlando and not get added to the SEC trash pile.

I was worried about Tennessee defending its conference title, but less so after some of these results. Tennessee seems to be starting a bit ahead of the pack, despite being young itself.

Kentucky will still gives us problem like last year. They are able to slow us down so well and that was an experienced team. Gets us out of our game. I still think we beat Florida because they usually end up running with us and wear down.

Their guards were the strength of the team last year, and they lost both of them. If UK doesn't find an answer at point, they aren't going to slow down anybody; they are just going to watch them go past.

It is odd that Kentucky may have the two best players in the conference at their respective postitions but be so weak at a third that it doesn't matter. I am sure they will improve, but from the admittedly limited amount I have seen them, it needs to be by leaps and bounds to avoid a really ugly season by UK standards.

I don't see it being worse than last year. They have Liggins who will be starting over Porter in a matter of time. Meeks is playing out of his mind and PP dominated us last year. We would've been swept sadly if he had played the 2nd game.

Why do people give UK so much credit for that 2nd game. It wasn't good coaching. It was passing around the perimeter until the shotclock hit 1 and then throwing up a prayer.

Well it worked didn't it? Bradly and Crawford could light it up - especially Crawford when he got hot. They managed to slow the game down - and thats what 'usually' beats us.

just because it worked doesnt mean it was good coaching or that having PPat in would have likely beaten us. It was simply off balance shot after off balance shot luckily falling.

The fact that they had the chance to win was good coaching.

Crawford making off-balancing threes wasn't luck. He did it all the time when he got hot. What should have CBG have done? Try to run with us and get blown out? He's 1-1 against Bruce Pearl with a bad team... that's pretty good coaching.

They also played pretty good defense that game.

the first game was quality coaching. The second game was prayers being answered
