Here recently, i've always wanted Tennessee to play Texas in either a bowl game or non-conference game. I want The Big Orange to show who the real UT is. So what do you think the chances are of landing either Texas or Oklahoma?

At this point, zilch. They are both headed to the pac-16.

I am fairly certain Texas would stomp UT if we were to play them. Atleast anytime soon. I would like to see at UT vs Texas matchup in the future though.

Chances are better than us beating either of them in the next 2 seasons.

I would like to see the SEC go after Clemson and Ga Tech and keep teams in the southeast I think Texas would be great but it's not a geographical fit

These expansions have nothing to do with geography....its all about new revenue through a larger tv audience. The SEC already has the Atlanta and SC markets locked down. IMO aTm and WV make the most sense.

This is about money. Clemson or gt don't expand the sec TV base. It needs to reach out into untapped markets like dallas for this to make sense. Otherwise, all you are doing is dividing current money among more teams.

It is not a question whether you get Texas or Oklahoma. SEC either gets both or none.

I wasn't saying I expect us to beat Texas right off the bat, but give or take a couple years then I would expect us to compete.

Zero chance...Texas is pac 16 bound

I'm fairly certain a&m is following texas too. they just want to follow them to the SEC... The texas-texas a&m rivalries in every sport, every year just bring in too much money and have too much tradition to not continue.

I guess it makes more sense for TX to travel 1400 miles to play USC or 2200 miles to play Washington than to travel 400 miles to play LSU or 1000 miles to play Tennessee. Geographically TX fits in with the SEC a lot better than with the Pac-10.

TX will not be playing those schools. There will be TWO divisions in the PAC-10, one with TX, TX Tech, OK, Ok State, TX A&M, and some other close regional teams. Thats the whole reason for joining the PAC-10, so the Big-12 does not have to split up its core schools.

I think if we are going to try to get into the Texas market, a team that alot of people seem to be overlooking is TCU! They have been for a while a top 25 team and here lately a top 5-10 team. I would be happy with TCU and the pick of WV, FSU, Miami, or even Kansas for basketball and the small success they have had of late in football.

Not going to happen and at this point and time and for the foreseeable future, Texas would treat us like Baylor...anyone who disagrees has blind faith...Texas is a top 3 University, Tennessee is arguably top 3 in the SEC East.

Oklahoma is gonna follow Texas(to the Pac 10), but A&M really wants to be in the SEC.

Reports have said SOME on the regents board of A&M want to go to the SEC but not all. The last reports I read stated A&M is still probably going to go along with the other 4 to the Pac-55.
