I will be. Nothin wrong with his shot - he still shoots a better percentage than most on our team from the 3-point arc... its just that when he does miss it looks a lot worse sometimes.
A high arc shot is is taught to create a softer touch at the rim and is just common sense when it comes to shooting percentage that a shot with higher arc is more likely to go in or get a shooters roll. With Scotty's shot their is too much arc and just like you said when he misses it looks much worse. From a coaches standpoint you look at it from a drain to an air ball and that = inconsistency. You want the shot to have arc but not so much that it can keep the ball from getting to the cylinder. Not only that it makes the shooter struggle with his confidence which scotty is. How many good shooters ( which hopson has potential to be) air ball free throws like hopson has?
1. Tennessee did what they had to this week. A loss in either game would have been a disaster of massive proportions.
4. Vanderbilt is terrible. Stallings better hope his incoming class can provide some offense. Otherwise, they are going to be awful again next year.
6. UCONN-Pitt will be all kinds of fun Monday night. Both teams methodically went about taking care of business today.
It's still just not something you can mess with. That's the reason why the Titan's didn't mess with VY's awful throwing motion - it's a habit and something they've done for years... you just can't change it because it could turn out for the worse in the end.
I'd rather Scotty air ball some threes than brick 80% of his shots.
It's not something that you mess with when the player is confident and comfortable with it. Shooting is a few basic mechanics and the rest is repetition and making sure your shooting motion is consistent every shot.
I agree that it is hard to change a McDonald's all American's shot going into his sophomore year but I believe it will be mainly because scotty isn't as confident as he or CBP would like him to be. There is only one way to fix that go back to ground one and rebuild up.

Exactly what CBP said he was going to do. I guess some think that he was lying. Only time will tell.
Speaking of Williams, can he not dunk the ball with some authority to get the ORANGE up off their butts at home games, it sure would help.:lolabove::lolabove:This wasn't a key moment or anything, but Brian William's 3 point shot in the first half might have been the most horrid shot I have ever seen at this level.
I dont see a drastic change being made, and him coming out with a completely different looking shot. The odds are that he has shot that way since he was little and that that is how he feels comfortable. May we see a little less arc, possibly, but i believe that that will be on his own. I see nothing wrong with the way he shoots, all that matters is if the ball goes in and he takes care of that just as good as anybody. Look at Shawn Marion the way he shoots, are you going to tell me that thats how a jump shot should look? It doesnt matter though because it goes in at a decent %, as long as Scotty continues to shoot decently I dont see a change being made. He can improve his consistency with his current style of shot just by getting in the gym more and shooting.
