Anybody think we can rebound from this and knock off Kentucky, with bruce back on the sidelines?

You never know with this team. I think we're just as likely to beat Kentucky by 25 as we are to lose by 10 to LSU. This team is schizo.

Poor shooting did us in: 4/20 from 3pt (three of those by McBee) and 12/20 from charity stripe.

It really is a simple game most of the time. Bama hit their FTs down the stretch, and we didn't. Ballgame.

We need to play basketball for 40 minutes. The first half was awful. It was a straight up layup/dunk line for Alabama and we contested none of them. Too many turnovers/bad shots lead to easy buckets in transition. We actually played defense in the 2nd half and went inside and tightened it up. Alabama did absolutely nothing once we started playing. 0 field goals in the last 9+ minutes of the game and we still lose. We outrebounded them by 20 and still lose. Our shot to win the game was trash, I would've rather seen Tobias force up a shot than Goins force up a contested 3. Terrible. Really loved seeing the Alabama take the lead and gain the cushion from the free throw line, especially after being raped down the stretch in regulation.

Alabama hit their free throws well down the stretch. That's about it. Inferior in every other way. We had every chance in the world to win that game and blew it. Hopefully one day we actually run something on offense. I'm sick and tired of watching our offense stand there and force up a shot at the 5 second mark. Run something, move in your so called "motion" offense.

Hearing Tony Jones use fatigue as an excuse for losing pissed me off as well. We sub out our starter every 4 minutes and play glorified walk-ons for 20+ minutes and we're fatigued? Give me a break. Maybe we should've put in the scrubs when we were up 20 at Auburn.

The half time show was awful, when they started playing "Proud to be an American" I think I threw up a little.

Once again though, Tennessee loses to an inferior opponent, at home no less. Saddens me that mediocre club will very likely win the SEC.

Oh and that was far away the best turnout we've had this year. Good crowd noise in the 2nd half as well.

The unicycle halftime show could show our players alot about spacing. Seems like they do not have a clue AT ALL. And when we got Green in foul trouble we didn't force the issue. Having him out of the game at the end would have been HUGE.

Agree completely.

I wish Tyler would have taken the shot as well. I also think with Scotty tonight we win. Our clutch free throw shooting wasn't there. Alabama I hate to say should have won based soley on their incredible free throw performance like 10-10 last ten they took.

Yeah if we keep dominating the boards like we are we should have a good chance in all our remaining games. We'll definitely need Hopson to pull it off. We should give them all they can handle and more inside and they just aren't all that deep. They are very beatable. I don't see it happening, the game being at Rupp, this Tennessee team just keeps surprising me with wins/losses so who really knows?

1. Many songs are amenable to operatic interpretation. The National Anthem is not one of them.
2. Tennessee's first half defense was disgraceful. They made a bad offensive team look like the 1986 Boston Celtics.
3. Trevor Releford annihilated UT's point guards. Melvin Goins and Trae Golden need to do some soul searching.
4. Tony Mitchell was the best player on the floor today by a wide margin. Alabama almost lost the game by not getting him the ball in the last two minutes of regulation.
5. There's no excuse for losing a game where you outrebound the other guys by 20. Awful ballhandling and shot selection negated the dominance on the glass.
6. Kids riding unicycles in circles for 10 minutes is entertainment gold. That should be the permanent halftime show.
7. Tobias Harris was assertive. That said, it's becoming readily apparent that athletic opponents are a problem for him.
8. Skylar McBee and Steve Pearl both play sound basketball. I do wish McBee would have stepped up and taken the last shot instead of passing to Goins.
9. Cameron Tatum attacked the basket more tonight than at any time this season. That's a positive sign.
10. This team's toughness will now be tested in a major way. Heading to Lexington and Gainesville off this loss is no easy assignment.

I'm partial to the dog and frisbee routine

Basketball 101, win rebounds and hit free throws. This game should have been a win. The poorest shot selection for me was the 3 Goins cranked up when we were up 2 and the ball early in OT. He jacked it up early in the clock instead of working for something inside with guys in foul trouble. If we get a 2 there and go up 4 we maybe talking about a win because the 3's were unkind to Bama in the 2nd half..

With Hopson out, Tatum stepped in like he needed to. It's a shame he doesn't drive like he should.

Our possession with less than a minute left in OT that ended with a deep contested 3-attempt cost us the game. We still seem to get lost on the offensive end at terrible times.

It makes you wonder what the conversation sounds like in the huddle during timeouts. There never appears to be any semblance of a Plan B.
