1. That is a simply crushing loss. This team is now staring five losses in six games directly in the face.
2. Georgia is as mentally weak as any team in the country. Being unable to pressure them into another late game collapse is an omnious sign.
3. Tennessee isn't going to win many games where they get whipped on the boards. They aren't good enough in any other area to withstand that.
4. The post defense was not good. Jeremy Price getting 20 is an abomination.
5. Trey Thompkins wasn't very good offensively. Losing to UGA when he isn't on is a poor effort.
6. Scotty Hopson and Tobias Harris were superb. If not for some bad luck on three or four rimouts for Harris, they would almost combined for 60.
7. Travis Leslie is wildly overrated. It's telling that UGA turned to Gerald Robinson in the last two minutes.
8. Mark Fox has got to stop worrying about the officiating. He almost lost his composure again today.
9. Melvin Goins was utterly terrible. His play today makes Jay Price look like Gary Payton.
10. Gut check time Tuesday night. This team is in desperate need of something to get excited about.

I honestly feel like the point guard position is the root of all our team's ills this season. I felt good about Goins after the tournament last year, but damn...

They know that unless they just absolutely have an abysmal close, that they are no worse than a 10 seed. They just don't see anything to play for at this point. Those big wins to start the season may have been the worst thing for this team to start with.

I love this board. The collective lack of knowledge towards the tournament is hilarious.

His NIT comment is ridiculous, but I think we might have played ourselves out of the NCAA tourney today. 8-8 in the SEC isn't a real strong case for being deserving of a bid, and that's likely how we're going to finish. If we can't even beat Georgia at home, how the hell can we expect to beat a team like UK or Vandy at Memorial? At this point it seems like we need to be praying we can take care of business against MSU and USCjr, and get a good draw in Atlanta, because we're probably going to go down there needing a couple wins to lock down a bid in the NCAA's.

Yeah, that #7 ranking after the Pitt win definitely hurt the team a lot more than it did good. It's like they saw the AP Poll, said "alright, we're done, we'll be back in March" and packed it up for the year.

True, but I don't buy we're solidly in yet, considering it's highly possible (probable) we lose 2 more. Assuming we beat SC and MSU and lose to VU and UK, that's 18-13 and if we are one and done in the SECT, I can definitely see us NIT bound.

You can tell how little basketball some of these analysts see too though, when the announcers said "Goins just knows how to play the position. He's smart running the offense."

By the way, everyone does realize the tournament isn't in Music City this year, right? It's in Atlanta.

the SEC play at least lets us know without a shadow of a doubt Hopson and Harris will be together next year at UT...
Harris better not even be thinking about leaving or he will be VERY disappointed....Cam Tatum was a noshow again...the lack of rebounding in the last 4 minutes killed any chance and the missing of key ft's by UT at crucial moments in last 10 minutes...yes UGA missed 2 but then they were money..

Hat, how many teams in the nation would you say have a PG rotation worse than Goins/McBee?

Look, if Ole Miss can beat Kentucky at home, there is literally no excuse for us not doing the same. Kentucky is not the 2009-10 Wildcats. They're too inconsistent to be a serious tournament threat.
