1. Excepting the utterly atrocious defense in the first seven minutes of the second half, that was a solid team performance. Everyone contributed.
2. Wayne Chism played the first 20 minutes with the intensity he needs to bring every moment he's on the floor. His teammates dampened the flame a little bit by not getting him the ball in the second half.
3. The offensive balance UT displayed tonight was nice. That said, Hopson will have to be more assertive against good opponents.
4. If Bob Huggins grabs a player by the jersey, he's an out of control bully. If Bruce Pearl does it, he's passionate and intense. Kissing the media's collective ass has its privileges.
5. I'll be interested to see how this lineup handles a team that can really pressure the ball. Prince and Woolridge handling the ball a great deal is an iffy proposition.
6. When Charlotte was in C-USA and I saw them on a fairly regular basis, I asserted that 49er fans were among the biggest douchebags in college sports. Some things never change.
7. Having seen them live for the first time in a few years, I'm now certain why Charlotte has deteriorated since entering the A-10. They're no damn good.
8. Good win for Marquette, who finally won a close game. I won't be at all surprised if Georgetown has another rough Big East campaign.
9. Somebody around here mentioned Cornell being pretty good. That guy is really, really smart.
10. Sunday will be fun. Number 1 coming to town should always get everyone juiced, regardless of the circumstances.

I said Cornell was good two months ago. It isn't rocket science.

1. I was really impressed with Hall and Woolridge tonight. Hall is a huge upgrade over Brian Williams in my opinion.
2. Prince is on a nice run of playing well again.
3. This just goes to show that Chism can dominate if he stays in the paint. This might have been one of his best games as a Vol considering the assists and steals that he had.

Charlotte fans were in fact douchebags.
Thankfully, Charlotte sucks. Seriously though, what was with that big group of Charlotte fans? I wasn't expecting that at all. I'll give them their due, they tried and put forth effort, sadly their team just wasn't that good. Great game though. Glad to finally see some energy/hustle out there, the crowd finally came to life as well.

Is there any good reason Hall wasn't playing more than Williams before tonight?

I thought the overall team performance wasn't too bad. I honestly think that it is now Scotty's time to step up and prove that he is still that McDonald's All-American he was coming in, and show some much needed leadership. We shall see on Sunday... It will be an interesting game, and I'm excited to get back to campus.

Supposedly he has been fighting illness this past month. He should definitely be getting alot more playing time.

What did I miss?

Pearl grabbed Hopson and Hall by their jerseys at a timeout. Hopson continued to pout like a 4 year old.

Was the Charlotte game against Louisville just an anomaly?

Louisville was playing without Smith, Knowles, and Siva and Charlotte shot out of their minds. That's the only time the 49ers have been competitive on the road against decent competition.

hatvol + 4 beers + blindfold is better than Williams. I can not see how he is getting even one min. IMO he is one of the worst players on scholarship in the SEC.

Yeah, Charlotte didn't appear to be very good. I knew there were mitigating factors at play there....

I rushed home from the game to read the section 103 post game report and couldn't wait to laugh my butt off at what Hat had to say about the cheerleaders at halftime.......funniest thing I have seen in a long time. But I got nothing.

I think they have potential. They had very bad shot selection at times which put them away, but they could make a run in their conference with more discipline.

I was trying to accentuate the positive. The male cheerleaders charged with holding up and catching the young ladies acted as if they were juggling flaming chainsaws. The only thing that appeared to be remotely coordinated was the taping down of the mats. I thought Wade Houston had been placed in charge of the cheerleaders.
