Good write up, hopefully Maze can take this the right way and continue to be a leader.

Something tells me Bobby will be more motivated on D next game. Josh Boone had a give me more minutes kinda day. Chism is the leader on this team by far. Watching him put the team on his back like that makes me damn proud. 26pts/12rebs/10for10 from the line. Weezy was clutch today.

This is the best defensive team the Vols have had in awhile, scrappy and they're contesting shots. I think maybe they're starting to figure out you have to play a little defense in this league. Bone impressed me today.

Nice write-up, Hat. I actually have been really impressed with the halfcourt defense the last 3 games. I was surprised to see that we are second in the conference in field goal % defense and points per game. That has to continue for this team to compete with the Cats.

No comment on JP, Hat? I brought the kids today, so I had to muffle most of my thoughts during the game.

#5 - Absolutely horrible in the post. Ole Miss would be dangerous to play if they got more production out of the Post.

#10 is 100% true. Jamie Dixon is doing an amazing job so far. I'm pulling for a #1 Pitt, #2 Cuse, #3 GTown to finish the BE this year.

A good day for me and my 9 yr. old daughter. This was her first game, and it worked out well since Weezy is her favorite player. I felt like we were very fortunate to win. OM missed a lot of fast break opportunities due to some boneheaded charges. Hat always complains about the halftime show, but my daughter seem to really enjoy it today. I caught the end; it seemed good.

I know JP has a couple of WTF plays a game like he did today, but he had several steals today like he normally does. But why on God's green earth does he shoot the j? I know he hit one today, but I guess anyone can get lucky every now and then. You would think a player who has played as long as he has could hit a jump shot every now and then, but on the other hand you would think the coaches son could hit an uncontested shot from the line too.

That was a very good game. Just as good as the last time Ole Miss played here. Chism defiantly carried the team today.

How was the half time show? You didn't mention this time. Haha it always cracks me up when you trash it.

Prince is such an enigma. Dude nearly had a triple double today and all I can remember are his stupid passes and ridiculous jump shots.

We are long and looks like our long guys are going to the boards and disrupting shots. The O us painful to watch, but we gave a chance with the addition of Hall as a presence on both ends.

That said, if we don't figure out how to attack the muddle if a zone, we're losing when losses mean most. We will be heavily zoned.

I try to focus on the upside of having JP on the floor, but he makes it hard for me sometimes. Despite the DOH moments he typically has, he came to play today. I honestly don't think Tennessee wins today without him.

I was on the phone and wasn't really paying attention. It appeared to be some kind of show involving school children doing one armed pushups while spinning basketballs.

JP probably has the school record for fouls on a 3pt shooter in a career. There was a time when he seemed to do it once per game. When the opponent attempts a 3, and you hear the ref's whistle, it's to the point that we know who fouled him without looking. Other than that, JP's defense has been pretty solid this week.

I have seen that one. They do it at Lady Vols games a lot. BTW Hat I saw Maze limping in the first half. I am not saying he was seriously hurt but he had something creating pain and he could not find a way to play through. Some players can and others cannot.

My point is his regression was likely due to a sore hammy or the like. I hope he gets it right by Tuesday. Or he was limping cuz he was tired of getting burnt by Warren. It depends on how much credit you want to give him.

JP played a great game today! That was a mega block of White's three in overtime. If White hit that one, we were done. The only thing that kills me is JP shooting free throws. The only one worse is Pearl. I hate seeing JP with the ball at the end of a real close game, cause you know the other team is going to foul him.

Pearl needs to slow his free throw shooting routine down, WAY DOWN. It's dribble, dribble, dribble ball up and SHOOT! He needs to get the ball up AIM and THEN Shoot! My God, why is this so hard for these guys!!! Need to get my daughter's old AAU coach out there and show'em!

JP, well he's just clueless when he shoots a free thrown and so are we. No one has a clue whether it's going in or not.

To hat (or anyone else) -

Do you have a clue on how many times JP has fouled a guy on a three point shot since he's been here? He's easily got to be pushing 10.

Only JP Prince can nearly ruin a near triple double.

That jump pass off the bottom of the backboard was my personal favorite.

but on the other hand you would think the coaches son could hit an uncontested shot from the line too.

Or at least put up a softer shot that has a chance to bounce in like Chism's two shots at the end of a game. Pearl just awkwardly throws it at the basket and if it hits rim bounces outside the lane...unbelievable. If he's going to continue to get minutes he needs to practice free throws until his wrist falls off.
