Parker takes too many halves or games off. There is no excuse for her to play like this in the damn Finals. The only reason this isn't more of a blowout is because of Nneka.
This is why Maya is a better player. Less talented, but she plays hard, all the time. Win or lose, if Candace doesn't come out like gangbusters in the second half, then she will have proved that USOC made the right decision.
I also have no idea what the point of the European Sparks is. I loved that sequence where Toliver passed to an open Gruda with a wide open lane to the basket, and she pulled up for a 14-foot airball. Nice!
LA's bench is terrible. Only Gray and Lavender should see the court. I don't see how players like Graves, Burdick and Massengale or out of the league, but you have players like Gruda shooting wide open air balls. I can't watch the rest this is so frustrating. This is the Finals!
Minnesota on their way to the win. LA could not hit open shots when they had the opportunity to make it a game (mainly Carson, Lavender and Tolliver). Parker could not be bothered to show up for the game at all, while Minnesota's 4 Olympians took over in the 4th Q. Guess that explains why they were in Rio...
Hopefully the rest of the Sparks not named Beard or Ogwumike show up for the rest of thr series.
I quit watching. Thank goodness they stole Game 1. They better win both in LA because I seriously doubt Minnesota looses Game 5 on their home court. I hope Parker shows up in these next two games or she will be denied a WNBA Championship.
:ermm:You can't miss wide open shots with the game on the line and expect to win. LA repeatedly missed open shots in the 4th quarter, and Minnesota was making really tough shots.
Moore, Fowles and Augustus were hellbent on making sure that Minnesota wasn't going to LA down 0-2. And no one on the Sparks showed up for this game, other than Beard and Ogwumike. But I'm singling out Parker because she is the most talented player on the court, and it is INEXCUSABLE for her to half-ass it in the WNBA finals the way she did tonight. She is better than what she showed tonight, and needs to quit dicking around and get it done.
The WNBA's unwillingness to invest in young players really pisses me off. Graves cant make it in the league, but LA wastes money on 40-year old Ann Wauters and the rest of that European dead weight?
La did not show up with the same passion this game they were just happy they won game 1
It's a 5 game series.
Minny is way too good of an experience team with 5 Olympians. I had a gut feeling that The Sparks would lose game 2.
The Sparks have a BIG opportunity to seal the championship in L.A. Got to win the next two!
GoSparks!

Its not the fact that they lost...it's how they lost.
This was a winnable game, even after the Lynx blew it open in the 2nd half. They were right in there, but only Nneka and Alanna were playing hard. Minny has beaten LA on the road before, so they can't take for granted that they will sweep their home games.
Especially given LA's short bench, everyone needs to play these games like it's the last game.
I agree! Candace will have to be consistent the next two games then the championship is hers.
The Sparks blew out the Lynx in the same fashion in the regular season @ Minney. So there's that.
One thing is for sure L.A. better not go back to Minney for a Game 5. I certainly would have my doubts of a championship and so will The Sparks.
