every one has their own opinon right?

Yes.

Some, meaning me, apply reason and emotion and balance what our gut tells us with what our head tells us.

Some, meaning you, envision ourselves in the hallway in between our 10th grade classes and, when asked about some new band, try to prove we have that hip disrespect that makes the girls giggle by summing up all consideration into "They suck."

You have a magnificent career awating you in bumper sticker poetry.

There is as much riding on Chris Leake and the Gator OL than anyone or any unit in the country this year. My gut feeling tells me that though the Gator nation is hemhawing around about what they expect, in the back of there minds they are looking forward to a pleasant surprise. It will be very interesting to see what happens on September 16.

"i personally think that once they divorce themselves of the leak family factor, they'll be moving up in the SEC and elsewhere"

I couldnt agree more

At least you have some reason to be giddy with anticipation rather than being filled with trepidation.

I think UF is on the way up, esp with Tebow next year. He's the real deal, add him to Percy Harvin and UF is laying the talent groundwork for real success. Everyone says Meyer's O wont work in the SEC, I hope not, but who says he wont change. What worries me is this massive haul of 4 and 5 star recruits.

Oh, now Lex, come on. You know you have hopes for UT and I think you are justified in being cautiously optimistic, just like me about my team. Last year for Tennessee was just awful considering the talent level. Almost inexplicable. But you did lose a close one to Florida and the fumble at 'bama. These are the things that can send a team into a tailspin, especially if no one steps up to a leadership role.

But this is a new season and hopefully when adversity hits -- and it will hit -- the team reacts in a more productive way. I agree that there are some long term question marks about UT. Got to be more competitive in recruiting and would like to see the team rebound from last year before concluding that all is forgiven.

Nonetheless, if I were in your shoes I'd be expecting a significantly better year this year than last.

Didn't you guys get some good o-line recruits?

Yes, some good recruits. But Spurrier didn't do much by way of recruiting right before he left and Zook didn't really replace the likes of Mo Mitchell, either. As a consequence, the O-line is a real problem for UF right now and it will be a couple of years before we fully get back on track.

If I am a junior or senior in high school right now and I can play guard or tackle, I am absolutely shipping a tape to Gainesville.

LG, you better hope your O line gets a lot better. UT D will be faster and meaner than last year and not by a little bit either. I really think you guys are in for a sound defeat in KTOWN.

That's laughable. Your pathetic attack on Miami yesterday was a great example of your alleged use of reason. Hypocrisy is curable. Look in the mirror before you take shots at others.

Honestly I am very concerned. The talent level is just not what it used to be. Yes, I will still have butterflies in my stomach at kickoff.

I think that game could easily come down to a battle between your blitz and Florida's offensive line. I really do believe that the Florida defense can keep your scoring to a minimum. But the over/under for me right now on false starts for Florida in that game is 5 and the O line will have to really execute to give Leak time to throw. Don't expect us to fling it downfield. Short passes and draws to take advantage of the blitz may be the key for any success.

Well, by the time that game rolls around we will know a lot more, right? That game could effectively be for the SECE championship. Or, it may not matter at all. Tell you what, though, its always a popular game so either way best to make sure you got a ticket lined up right now.

Well I like our chances to over power and out speed your protection. I don't see us giving the game away and I think we will be motivated and take the game in a very convincing way. I normally dont think like that with the UF and UT game. But this year is different. When it is all said and done, this D for UT will be remembered as a juggernaut. Hide and watch. Speed, speed and more speed with talent and strength.

Do me a favor and go back and read in this thread posts 24-28 and then especially 31 for the background on the post with which you take issue. Not as antagonistic as it might appear to be at first blush.

Actually, Florida scares me a little. I have read the preseason mags and that is about all I know about them. They have some wicked bad talent and have a great set of WRs. It sounds like UM has tweaked his system to fit Leak better. With thier WR and defense, the SEC E is going to be a bloodbath between the top 3 (UF, UGA, UT). If we hold up and actually show up on offense this year this could be the most competitive year in the SEC E and W in some time. But, since we beat the crap out of each other I dont see a NC coming from the SEC. My prediction on UF goes 9-3 with loses to UT, AUB, FSU.

Ditto. The talent is there, the defense should be more than pretty good, I still think the offense may struggle at times, but I also think they'll be better than they were last year. Plus, they're still Florida. The Florida of Spurrier's days in Gainesville? Nah. But still a threat.
