The stupidity of these people is matched only by their fervor

And Bush did when he spent like a drunken sailor? What, everybody suddenly got all tight with the budget on November 8, 2008?

Not buying it. Sure, people *****ed when Bush racked what was then a record deficit. But not nearly as viciously as they have with Obama. Not even close.

The explanation is something you don't want to face, which is that this intense dislike of Obama is personal to him, and is far less about fiscal conservatism than is the public charade currently offered to justify it.

people weren't vicious about bush? you can't be serious

I said people complained, absolutely. But you did not have nearly anything this sustained, with what amounts to a new political party form, run candidates, and threaten to coopt the Dems like you have the TP/GOP.

There is a reason Bush was not at the Republican convention when MCCain spoke and it isn't just because he was un popular. Alot of us feel like he let Frank and Dodd pull a fast one on him. Bush jr was not a great president. There is nothing about him that makes me go whoopie that's my guy. I want a guy who goes in there and says this is insane and the line stops here and actually does something. I want a president who is willing to be a one termer just to get this country. Bush was not a great leader but compared to Obama the man was amazing.

people compared him with hitler. called him the devil. repeatably refered to him as an idiot. suggested he should be in jail. the tea party has done worse? you are blaming the republicans because they are better organized?

the Dems remade their party into one going the way of Obama, Pelosi, Reid instead of Clinton. They chose poorly since people are realizing a move left isn't really a good idea

I remember people saying Bush should be imprisoned or executed for war crimes.

they went as far as a movie about his assassination. But I guess it was all in good fun

I don't necessarily miss him but he was the type of politician I can live with- one who I genuinely believe is smarter than me. I could disagree with his idea but at least he could explain it like it made sense. I don't get that feeling from very many leaders anymore (definitely not those high on the totem pole)

like I said earlier, I'm sure you lie to yourself about a lot of things.

I don't think he was smarter than you as you seem to be a very bright guy. I do think he was smarter than the average citizen and was able to weed through the crap and was a big picture guy. I feel Bush JR had tunnel vision and once 911 happened he just locked in to war mode. I believe Obama has even worse tunnel vision. the thing that made reagan and clinton successful is that they were able to connect with the majority of americans.

Riddle me this: If you fellows are right, and the prime motivation really is excessive government spending as opposed to simple hatred of Obama, why did we not see the phenomenon of the Tea Party in those years where, during the Bush administration, the deficit was mushrooming?

Why is this only happening as soon as Obama becomes a contender/actually wins?

Why do you think there was so little enthusiasm among conservatives in 06 and 08? We were disillusioned with the GOP as well. Bush's approval numbers got down into the 30's, right? That would include many who felt betrayed. We were betrayed by a Republican held gov't that spent too much then even more betrayed when Bush cooperated with Dems for his last two years on bail outs and such.

Bush was demonized unfairly in many ways. But his domestic spending was one of many fair ways. The expansion of Medicare that he allowed himself to be cornered into was flat out ridiculous. No concessions. No reform. Just the ol' liberal "throw some money at it" approach.

appreciate the compliment but Clinton was probably the smartest man in the room 99% of the time. Not to mention he was very smooth so the 2 combined were dangerous

there's no point in trying to reason with LG on this issue.

Hmmmm ... According to the Heritage Foundation, which is a very conservative think tank, Bush raised the deficit by an historical all-time high of $700 billion. While Obama will increase it by a trillion, no one knew that back when Bush was in office. It stands to reason that all these patriots should have been speaking up then. If that is indeed what motivated them.
You have just proven what most of us have suspected... you don't know "these patriots" at all. More than a few were disgruntled with Bush's domestic spending and lack of action on important social agenda issues such as school choice and his "opportunity society".

There is no logical reason all of the TPers should have suddenly coalesced to oppose Obama's spending when, in percentage and adjusted dollar terms, Bush was certainly at least in the same ballpark as Obama and in many respects outspent him.

Yes there is. What you just posted directly supports the glaring fact that the TP was more a response to GOP failure than Dem success. They got fed up with the lies Republicans told and the "truths" Dems told.

I distrust the GOP because they say the right things and then don't do them. I oppose the Dems because they say the wrong things... and do them.

Yes but as his director of the FBI said; 'his moral

I wanted to start a poll about whether posters
here believed some of the following statements
by oblahblah but was thwarted by some overzealous
monitor who would rather entertain threads such as
this one that is directed to fools or even might we
say stupid fools.

If Obama is a Christian then I'm the Pope.

Perhaps someday will start a poll on each of the
following statements to see who agrees and who
disagrees.

“Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“it is important for Western countries to avoid
impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion
as they see fit”
Barack Hussein Obama

“We will convey our deep appreciation for the
Islamic faith, which has done so much over so
many centuries to shape the world for the better,
including my own country.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“The contribution of Muslims to the United States
are too long to catalog because Muslims are so
interwoven into the fabric of our communities and
our country”
Barack Hussein Obama

“I have lived in a Muslim-majority country... I know,
because I am one of them.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“As a student of history, I also know civilization’s
debt to Islam.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds
the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“And since our founding, American Muslims have
enriched the United States.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“And I consider it part of my responsibility as
President of the United States to fight against
negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they
appear.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“Moreover, freedom in America is indivisible from
the freedom to practice one’s religion. That is why
there is a mosque in every state of our union, and
over 1,200 mosques within our borders. That is why
the U.S. government has gone to court to protect
the right of women and girls to wear the hijab, and
to punish those who would deny it.”
Barack Hussein Obama

“We are not nor have we even been at war with
Islam”
Barack Hussein Obama

Public Policy Polling: Majority of Republicans Doubt Obama's Eligibility to be President; That Would Be 72% Bill 'Pinhead' O'Reilly! | Birther Report: Obama Release Your Records

Birthers make a majority among those voters who say they're likely to participate in a Republican primary next year. 51% say they don't think Barack Obama was born in the United States...........

Gsvol, I have an honest question, where do you get all of those pictures at? Some of them are quite clever even if I do disagree with them.

What would even be the point of Obama showing his birth certificate? It's certainly not going to make people like gsvol change their minds.

Because some people believe there is no BC and if there isn't one it means everything that has been done never happened.

It would also make the Watergate scandal look like a boyscout trip.
