Good for him and well deserved. The ole ball coach brought UF a great decade plus of some real good football.

He singlehandedly gave Florida their football history until Meyer showed up to return them to 'Spurrier' level prominence.

They may choose all the AEDs as his namesake. We all know Urbs was so bad off he had to quit football due to his heart and health.

I think Florida is right to name the field after him. He treated them very well.

The way he quit mid-year on his final USCe squad, they should name an old ball sack after him. They should name it The Old Ball Sack. They should run it out onto the field every home game to the tune of Spaceballs, or Rush's 2112, or something like that, some geeky ball boy holding it up in the air full of the game balls, then take it over to the sideline and dump it unceremoniously at the end of the benches.

I'd love that new tradition.
