I appreciate the words Doc. It comes across as worse than it is, Lord knows I've been here at UT for quite some time already (5th year right now), but some of that time (5 semesters to be exact) was spent on co-op in Birmingham. That experience was invaluable for me... but I can't do that anymore, gotta finish up! I know 6 years sounds like a lot for undergrad, but it will only be 4 and a half worth if you subtract my co-op, which isn't bad for getting an engineering degree.(kiddiedoc @ Jan 31 said:No, the only way I gained that knowledge is from (unfortunately) seeing what happens to people when they just "slide by" in school. Some very good people I have known never got more opportunities because they failed to capitalize on the ones they had when they were young. Once you get behind, it is nearly impossible to catch back up.
Dad? Is that you? :birgits_giggle: :biggrin2:(kiddiedoc @ Jan 31 said:Don't take this wrong, I'm really only trying to help you down the road: I know a lot of people who would give anything to be able to "do-over" the years you're living. It's hard to see it during your youth, but your choices (including whether or not to study or take notes) will dictate the rest of your life. Think about that. Consider yourself lucky to be one of the privileged few in the world with the means to attain a higher education. Work hard now and you will reap the rewards for decades.
That's a promise from personal experience.
Now log off and get back to class! :biggrin2:
