Neither does NorfolkVol which is where I am right now. Trying to buy a house around here and its nothing but a dump.
the Ghent area is really nice, but can get dangerous. I also really like the Lakewood/Willowwood area. But ultimately, move out to Va Beach or Chesapeake. Chesapeake is cheaper too.
and fwiw, I'd consider just "old". I don't really think of it as a dump.
Ghent is out, we went back to look at some houses around 7:00pm and the roads were flooded? I got a much better appreciation after touring Chesapeake, we are looking at houses in Riverwalk.
FWIW Smokey is either going back to DanTheMan or coming to me in DC. The guy who bought my house is a friend of mine and he has been warned.
everywhere on the south side of Hampton Roads can flood with ease. Chesapeake, Va Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk. And they will with regularity. I still miss that place though!
make sure you make a visit to Taphouse in the Ghent district. over 100 brews on tap and you'll be lucky if 3 of them are domestic.

Now that I've moved I can show him around Tampa next time.
Ashley is doing well considering everything. The accident was 1 month ago today. The fact that she's home and walking still blows my mind. We had a Dr's appointment today and she had half of the 16 staples taken out from where she had the fusion. The Dr today wanted to let the Neurosurgeon take out the rest at the appointment next week. We also still have ear issues and plastic surgery to deal with. Still, we're on the right path.
I've rented a condo in Tampa a couple blocks from the bay and my furniture will arrive next week. I'm headed back to Atlanta for the next few days to tie some things up and then I'll be here permanently.
Ho, when I lived in Altamonte we used to head down to JB's on Kirkman. I think it's still there. My brother-in-law is over your way too. We'll all have to tee it up sometime.
